I had the pleasure of removing the drive pulley on the motor shaft today. It seems I bent the pulley while replacing the belt a couple months ago. I had to dirll 3/8 holes opposit each other to install bolts for the puller, it's a shame they don't coat the shaft with white grease during manufacture, it would help when removing the pulley. Does anyone have and easier way to remove a really stuck pulley, I didn't want to heat it because of the seal next to it.

I am having the same problem. I tried a little heat, but that did not help. I even tried drilling holes in the pulley and using a puller with no success. The pulley is now ruined, so I have to get it off somehow. Any suggestions?

If you have a means to lift the front of the tractor in the air, you can wrap a heavy chain around the pulley and give it a "snap" several times; the pulley generally slides off using that method.
The chain acts like a slide hammer as it imparts an impact to the pulley. Best method I've found so far.
