greg papa yes, use 1/2" bolts and nuts.

Brennan Hoyt and other timed-deck-wheel searchers… I could be mistaken, but I believe that the restoration quality wheels the green guys have to restore their 39" decks on their early 110's are identical, save the color of the steel rim….

Brendan - I suppose I officially wouldn't recommend it, but that same 100 I ran with the 2 spindle deck had the correct deck mounts for a 70 but I was running a 3-spindle deck mule drive on the front and I encountered no problems. The front button clutch was operational so I had two ways to...

FWIW I ran a 38" timed deck on my 100 for several years with no issues whatsoever, though it was never called upon to bite more than 3" tall lawn grass at worst. Perhaps IH's concern was overdriving the little drive belt or the timed belt. I do know that there is a loud racket and sparks fly...

Art - Nice 100. Juice lift compliments it well. Did the double seal work on the shaft? Any word on the seat upholstery people?

Art - I'm pretty sure the other cubbers already said as much, but the 86 is unique in that it has a longer crank pto end and a different sg bracket than any other cub, certainly any narrow frame. The 800 crank is similarly long, but then again its tapped on the end to receive retainer...

Denny - I know about the date codes, and I always thought it odd that for some reason the original axles didn't have any, unless I remember wrong. Can anyone find date codes on an original axle? the 70/100 definitely has part ID and date codes, I remember that for sure.

On the thin axle, my anecdotal evidence from surveying tractors and sn's tells me that the really thin axle stopped being used very early, like 16xx or so. I know 1516 has one, and my 1801 never had one. I would enjoy being shown thin axles on later tractors, if someone could show one. Paul's...

Hi, Kraig My anecdotal evidence shows that the curved slot appeared sometime in the early 2x,xxx timeframe. Purely anecdotal! Note also the "smooth" head side tin on the early K161 engines vs. the "ribbed" tin on later tractors. Changed sometime late in '61... Note also the "thin gap"...

Jim Fluck - By my (unofficial) reckoning you have the original engine, or at least serial nameplate, in yer tractor. IH made no attempt to match the engines to the chassis serial numbers, but general trends can be inferred. Look to see your spec number. It should be 28542e. Sometimes...

Art - The wheelhorse part number is #5261, if that helps. Early 60's 701/702 tractors had the same Hein Warner pump, just painted red.

Wondering if anyone out there has number 10 below, from a 42" spring tip blade?

Art A - Nice progress on the ol' 100! There is a sense of satisfaction when the rear clutch rollpin comes out and it can split in two, isn't there? Kraig - You could "test" the Killer Kohler in Spot anytime, if you want to try it in a gearjammer tractor!

Art/John - Once the 1x2 came out there definitely was a factory "hush kit" to retrofit the Nelson cannister style muffler to 100's. Someone posted the installation paper awhile back. However I think the last 100's to come out probably still had the "pepper pot" style muffler, in keeping...

Art - I'll jump in on the QA hooks. I've got 214xxx here, a 123, and its just like any other 1x2/3 or 70/100 for that matter. That's not right at the cutoff (218009?) but just information. I do beleive a QA36/42 will still bolt to an earlier tractor as the holes are there. The same...

Kraig, I think it'd look great smoothing out my class 5 lumpy driveway! Behind a 123 or Spot or whatever.

Art - Nice find on the box blade! I'm sure you'll have that cobbled stuff off and the correct "IH 3 pt" tabs on there in no time! Lemme know when I can borrow it. Hey, your driveway is blacktop!

James - On the add-on "juice lift" accessories for the narrow frames: 1) electric lift rockshafts (from 147's) don't work, for me at least, the side to side spacing is too much; 2) The original kit included a bolt-on piece part that is substituted for the lift handle. The instructions...

Michael Miller - Nice 1000. I have an 800, and also had to get the flexible QL 3 pin driver when going thru the clutch. Get out your wallet on that part. You may want to check the driveshaft for wear, and the throwout arm. Your tractor looks really nice, though, and certainly deserves the...
