What is the model # of the tiller, a #2 by chsnce?

If it looks like this, it will fit. But if it didn't come off a 82 series, you'll have to change the lower pulley to 5/8" instead of the 1/2" that's on it.

That will fit, provided the belt on the gearbox is changed to 5/8". You will also need a different belt and mule drive.
Also, your 782 needs a cast iron rearend. Can't tell from your profile pic thumbnail if yours is IH or MTD built.

How would you go about telling?
Why not post a pic of the rear instead of the serial #? It could have been changed out at some point.

It's a cast iron rear. Bolt it up, change the lower pulley to 5/8" and let-r-eat!
How do you tell by looking at it?
Also what part is the mule drive, and what part is the gear box? Sorry I just don't know allot about these small tractors. Thanks
Cause I know what one looks like.
The yellow piece is the mule drive and the big hunk with the pulley is the gearbox/mount.

Depends on what it came off of. It looks like the pulleys are not big enough to me. If it came off a 82 series they will be fine, if not, they will have to be changed as well.
He said it came off a 1250. If that helps?
Gotta change the pulleys then. It would be best to add the J bolt and remove the adjuster arm as well.
