I have to replace the starter on my Cub 1772 Kabota diesel. Do I have to remove the engine to get at the starter is there an easier way to replace the starter.

You do not have to totally remove but you have loosen the motor mounts on the left side and remove the motor mount on the right and raise the engine high enough to get it off. FYI When you have the right side mount off cut a notch in it to prevent this much work in the future. Good luck
