I had an oil leak from the right front corner of the engine. Ended up being the oil line boss gasket. The gasket had a crack.

This one kinda ran rough and I was not able to get acceptable performance from it. Since it ran beautiful in it's original tractor, my 1986 1811, I knew the basic engine was probably ok. The carb is the original Carter fully adjustable unit from the blown KT17 series II. I never tore it down before. Well, I finally got around to do it. Upon disassembly, the carb wasn't really filthy, or corroded. I did find some sediment in the bowl.

I sourced new Kohler gasket and carb kit. I did not want to succumb to a Chyna carb, since the throttle shaft was tight on this one, and they are a better quality casting and parts quality.

After everything was cleaned, inspected and float adjusted, it went together well. After reassembly, it started up quickly, and was easily adjusted to run smooth at all speeds and loads.

I still had an oil leak on the right side. I found that the shorter oil line B was leaking at the crimp. I was able to locate a new OEM Kohler line fairly easily, but it was a $100 bill.

Getting this one buttoned up. I installed the spark plug wire/kill wire grommet on the flywheel cover.
