My wife won't hesitate to go see her Dr or go to the hospital when needed.....but you think she will take any meds they give her
bash.gif

She is so scared of the side effects she won't take anything. She has a real good Dr that won't prescribe anything that isn't necessary or has a chance of bad side effects. Even when she is told it could have happened to one person in a million. Paranoid !

Ok,

Mark Ambermans' question on the main forum just made me remember this.

I went to have a tube put in one of my tires over at Discount Tire a few weeks ago. The one tire was a little rough on the side wall so I just took one of my spare OE Goodyears and was going to have it swapped and the tube put in. The guy looks at me and says " This tire is more than ten years old and we cant put a tube in it." I corrected the guy and told him it was 42 years old to be exact and that I wasn't drag racing with my cub but moving snow. He didn't care. After the thousands of dollars I've spent in that place over the years and they couldn't take care of one tractor tire.

What a joke! The best part was a guy was standing there from the local Cub Cadet store getting tires done and said that they would be delighted to have my business if I needed it done right away. The guy behind the counter gave me a dirty look and I walked out. So much for customer service.

I'm happy to report that my tubed 42 year old OE Goodyear is preforming beautifully with it's new tube as expected. No thanks to Discount Tire.

Brian:
That guy must have worked in the Lansing store a few years ago.. On a Friday afternoon, I went into their store here to get 4 new Michelins on my wife's Explorer. Yup, no problem, 'till the mechanic handed me the keys back -they'd only changed three tires.....he told me the fourth one was at the Okemos store, they were short handed and that I'd have to go out there to get that one put on. I've bought lots of tires since then, all from Belle Tire..

My Sister in Law came to visit and while here one of her tires leaked down. I aired it up and took it to the nearest Discount tires to have them fix it. They called me back later and said the tire couldn't be fixed because somebody had drove it flat. I told them to put a new tire on it and a hour later when I got to the store I asked for the bad tire. The guy said sure let me go get it, after about 5 minutes he comes back and said "sorry the truck had come by and picked up all of the old tires".

When I got home I sent a complaint to Discount tires headquarters. A couple of days later the manager of that store called me and tried to tell me that the pickup truck had just happened to arrive in that one hour interval. I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

I've never gone back to that store and probably will never buy from another Discount tires store again. There are plenty of other places to purchase tires.

I only get tires for myself & the company vehicles from one small town local FULL SERVICE (yes they still exist!) gas staion. Been burned twice by 2 different outfits in the bigger city & have been a loyal customer to the "Good Ole Boys" at the station for over 15 years now, they end the job with a hearty thank-you & clean windows too! Customer service when given properly will hands down whip any compitition when it comes to a customers satisfaction, not just a fake smile & hope to get through the job thinking "outta sight, outta mind"
As an owner of a three man shop, we take great pride in maintaing our high level of customer satisfaction & repeat buisness, treat them as you yourself would want to be treated. Gotta run, have to get back to downloading blueprints insted of taking so many breaks to read about tractor stuff!

Just dropped by to say.... "Stinkin' gas prices jumped .07 cents today. From $1.77.9 to $1.84.9.

Last week gas was $1.41. Today $1.74. Diesel is $2.19 at a few places. Most at $2.55. They got to squeeze a little more out of you...

We have the best snow we have had in 3 years. About 4 inches. The 147 has chains, blade, weights, gas, ready to push snow.
I sit here and look out at the shop. Due to Hernia surgery Tuesday I can't even open my shop doors for 3 more weeks

Luther, I know how you feel! I just got cleared to go back to work about 2 weeks ago from having a hernia surgery. Ironically we got 8 inches of snow the very next day after having my hernia repaired and all I could do was watch my wife shovel. I got released to work and no restrictions at all, still a little sore from time to time but can work on the Cubs again without having to worry if anything is going to "pop".

Well, bad news

. More weeks of lay offs in the auto industry, big suprise. My shop has only two major customers, Ford and Chrystler, so I guess you know where that puts me. Will be cleaning out the house for imediate sale, or at least to try. Got to get out while the getting is good.

Anybody need an automation specialist? ABB robots, Allen Bradley plc's, welding, Cub Cadets?

Brian,
sorry to hear that, hope you find something quickly. I am laid off temporarily and still have no spare time and no money.

Gas prices in Columbus,Oh = $2.45 took a 30 cent jump in 1 day last week.

Hernia ... wussies. I changed clothes and jumped on a silage pile and started packing it down as soon as I got home.

Second heart cath I pulled up the garage door one hour after they pulled the cath out of me.

Now the first cath was a different story !! Dang near bled to death ...

HEY, THERE's Kentuck KEN....I haven't seen Him here in a LONG time!

BRIAN B. - Board up the windows in that house and Move inside the CHEDDAR CURTAIN! Both A-B & ABB have plants in Milw. Your first hand experience should give You an advantage. Ohhhh, and bring your CC's with.

Hi Ky. Ken we have missed you. Get back on here.Hope you are having fun with all this weather we are having.

Hey, a rant's a rant, huh? Why is it that someone who's driving down the road at, say, 60, and all of a sudden their vehicle says, "Up yours, I'm in control now" and away they go, the driver can't just shut the key off?

I was looking at a small Honda today. Confirmed with salesman that gas was DBW like Toyotas. He says, no problem, jetfighters fly that way. I looked at him and said 'but they have ejection seats if something goes wrong'. He was speechless...but with a big grin.

Allen, my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo has DBW, 140xxx miles, so far all is well... It also has a 5 speed manual transmission, If I ever experience a run away throttle, I'll just push in the clutch, shift to neutral and then turn it off. Unless I panic, then all bets are off.
