The exhaust shields from an 1863 are on. I will remove them to paint them high heat black. I drove it for 30 minutes, and all went well. The new seat is comfortable.

Think you have a gem here. Why? No evidence of rear pto, which, I think, wears stuff out.I replaced the dry rotted and leaky front tires and wheels with original repainted wheels and tires from a 1989 1050.

So, two identical tractors, one used with rototiller on a family farm for twenty years, the other mowed grass. One bounced , lurched and juddered around whilst ground-engaging with the tiller while the other lived in peace. Both for sale at the same price, I'm buying the one that lived well.582 with a rear PTO is pretty rare. I have seen pictures of ONE in 20 years of messing with these things. And it certainly wouldn't wear the tractor out since there is very little you can do with the gear drive's rear PTO.

See youtube '1966 cub cadet 102 garden tractor with rear pto' video. If not for a roto tiller, what's it for?Tiller on everything but a super is not run off the rear PTO. There were basically no attachments made to use the rear PTO.
