Back in the 70's when I was in H-School I worked at a Honda delaership on weekends. Tuning the 750 4s was my favorite, but we had all the right tools, vacuum gauges etc. Then came along the recall on the 360's-- what a pain, had to replace the cam chain tentioner & rocker arm shafts-- did so many recalls!

Don: Glad to hear you are able to ride.. I have put on a few miles locally, but no real interest at this point. I have never rode one of the big Kaws, but the 1400 Concours caught my eye a couple of years ago. If I bought another bike, I'd really consider something beside a V twin... I like big inline fours, much smoother and more power for the size.. (Hope my Yammie doesn't hear about this).

Riders ...... I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But you didn't see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday. I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But you didn't see me playing Santa at the local mall. I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant. But you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief. I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by. But you didn't see me, driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window. I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children. But you didn't see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless. I saw you stare at my long hair. But you didn't see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love. I saw you roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves. But you didn't see me and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none. I saw you look in fright at my tattoos. But you didn't see me cry as my children where born and have their name written over and over in my heart. I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But you didn't see me going home to be with my family. I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane. I saw you yelling at your kids in the car. But you didn't see me pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me. I saw you reading the map as you drove down the road. But you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn. I saw you race down the road in the rain. But you didn't see me get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date. I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But, you didn't see me trying to turn right. I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But you didn't see me leave the road. I saw you waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But you didn't see me. I wasn't there. I saw you go home to your family. But you didn't see me. Because I died that day you cut me off. I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family. But, you didn't see me. Re-post this around in hopes that people will understand the biker community. If you don't re-post this, It sucks to be you. I hope you NEVER loose someone that rides.... this is so true and happens a lot more than people know....

Hi guys .. yup I'm still alive (and back to kickin' !) . No Cub time yet - I may have to bring one to Florida when I come back in the fall - everyone in the park uses golf carts, sure wish I could find one of the old Golf Cart bodies for the 149

.

Anyway, I am ready to plow again, maybe interstates rather than fields.. Traded off the Yamaha a couple of weeks ago for a nasty old HD. (actually a nasty new FLHX Street Glide with lots of trimmings. Milwaukee's doing pretty good building things these days - the only things to fall of so far were the stock mufflers..A pair of RCx's sound much more like a Kohler Twin

. Here's a couple of pics of Big Blue (the color is Big Blue Pearl, lots of metalflake in it). Heading for home in about 5 days - I may be hitting the Upper Penninsula in July - who knows - I may head west and take it back to the nest..

I want a Street Glide to. I have been looking. There is a 09 up here for $18000.00 ! But I will have to Waite till we get back home next summer and then I might pull the trigger. I bet you get lots of ridding time in down there, much better weather that here lol. Nice to hear from you (enjoy).

Nice bike Gerry. You will really enjoy the riding time on that. I have always said you have never seen your surroundings until you have seen them from a motorcycle. My son took the road king to Gatlinburg last week and rode the Smokey mountain area. He said they especialy liked the Blueridge parkway and the Dragon. Some of the guys had brake overheating problems but soon learned to use the gears more for braking. If you drive back this way you might want to check that area out.
There is a lot of pictures of the dragon area on

Gerry, nice bike! Good to see you post.

Gerry, way to Go! I'm not much of a Biker, I bought a new Honda S 90 (just basic wheels) back in '67 when still in H.S. But sold it after Nixon drafted me in '71. Youngest brother been biking forever, Both sons now each have a Harley. I'll stick with my Farmall Super C & CC's...

been too busy trying to get my cub going to climb onto my75 T500 suzuki but it will happen

Kraig,

That silver bike you posted a few pages(years)back. Is that an ORCA engine? Those things are "spensive."

Marty, I have no idea. I just posted the photos for Greg Johnson. Hopefully he'll see this and answer your question.

Marty

It's a stock Vrod engine running 10 lbs of boost making about 175HP at the rear tire. Oh ya I have about 64.000 miles on the bike.

Greg,

Nice bike!
When that engine goes, go ahead and put an ORCA engine from RB racing in it.

Just shut your eyes when the price comes up!

Almost lost the harley this week. The clutch cable was laying on the wireing harness and my friend noticed smoke and flames coming up from the front of the engine. He held the cable off the wires while i disconected the battery. You harley rides might want to chech your bikes.
Put about 125 miles on the Harley yesterday. It was so hot the tar in the road was getting soft.It was 105 degres f which makes for a very hot ride. Today I will take the truck.

Luther,

You wouldn't happen to have thought to take any pics after you disconnected the battery did you?
You have got a good friend.
What kind of Harley do you have?
My wiring harness is routed under my tank, and back to my seat. The clutch cable goes down the front of the frame and underneath, back to the tranny.
It is HOT here in NC too! Yesterday, both of my thermometers read 104 in the shade and another read 115 in the sun. Too hot to ride for sure.

Marty didn;t take any pictures. There is also wires where your clutch cable turns back at the bottom front of the engine. That is where the problem was. The bike is a 02 Road King numbered series. My son rides it most of the time. We have put 9000 miles on it this year.He helps a lot with organizing rides for charoities, Escorts, ect. They had about 250 bikes escorting pieces of the world trade center to be displayed at fire depts.
I have had over 100 for 5 days now and only .55 inch rain in June. We are going to process the corn that isn;t ruined today. Most of my garden is dried up.
