Replaced my Kohler carburetor because the original was leaking gas got a replacement off of Amazon installed it, engine runs fine in the high throttle indent, but it lower RPMs it surges and wants to shut off

while getting by with the Amazon carb,
rebuild (or even just refurbish/clean real well) the OEM carb (assuming it is) and later go back to that.
they’re often still better than modern knockoffs.

is the float set correctly and do you have air leaks between the carb and engine? Chris is right though the chinses amazon carbs are terrible.
