Just an update. Tractor still hanging in. This is my primary mowing tractor and I have been using it to haul sap for maple sugaring and even plowing snow. I am not sure of the total hours from purchase because I forgot to write it down but last year I put about 60 hours on the machine. This suggests to me that I might have put a couple hundred hours on the tractor. I have been doing the normal maintenance and still running MMO in the gas. Last year I shifted to mobil one. Overall the oil consumption is still very low. Took a few minutes today and did a compression check. Left cylinder still running 90 psi and right is slightly above 100.
I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions and seems like “Just use it” is currently working out for me.
