Has anyone got any advice as to the removal of the main high speed jet (??) that screws into the tower that hangs in the float chamber of these old kohler carbs...??
Some of them simply won't budge for me. I wind up ruining the screwdriver slot, then it's game over. Any ideas out there...??

I had that same problem on a #30 carb I rebuilt for My K321 I rebuilt a couple years ago. I ended up drilling it out and removing the old jet with an "easy-out" New used jet was $10 from a sponsor above.

Bruce M: I have had success by using PB Blaster along with an impact screwdriver. Not the electric kind but the type you use a hammer on. I select a driver bit that closest fits (the widest possible) the threaded hole. The impact driver seems to prevent boogering up the screwdriver slot while jarring loose the corrosion in the threads. It has worked for me.
