My electric fuel pump is working, I have fuel to the carburetor but the engine will not start. If I pour fuel into the throat, it will start but as soon as that fuel is burned the engine quits. Is there an accelerator pump in the carb that may cause the fuel to not get through the carb to the cylinders? It is a twin Kawasaki in a Cub 3205.

Thanks for any advice.

Fuel shut off solenoid at bottom of carb bowl could be stuck, needle valve could be stuck, crap in main jet port, crap in idle jet passage.......lots of possibilities.

First test, give carb sharp rap with screwdriver handle......see if it will run....

2nd test, make sure fuel shut of solenoid is operating.

3rd test, back out main jet and idle jet exactly 2 turns each, then run back in exactly 2 turns each, try again (may not have adjustable jets, if not, this may not be possible)

4th test, drop bowl and look for crap in gas.

Thank you for the replies and the information, it sure helped!
The problem was the fuel shutoff solenoid. The engine has not run much in the past year and the fuel gummed up (stuck in closed position) the needle. I fixed the solenoid, now the engine runs.

Thanks again.
