Cubs to repair

10-12 Cub Cadets took a bath Monday morning, I forget how many we have here. After draining the water soaked engine my dads Original started. The 70,72,73,102,123,109,128,149,149,149, and whatever I forgot will be all running again in time. Well the 1 149s engine failed again last week, it’ll get a different engine some day.

The Rush River is 100 feet from the shed, they had 8+ inches of rain during the night. Neighbor guy has lived there all his life and has never seen the River overflow like this. There are several bridges washed out in the area.

Found the Woodchuck taking shelter on top of a mower deck.

Clean up in the shed will start tomorrow morning, the heat and humidity is will make this a slow process. Their house basement was flooded and we got that under control

Now the big issue....the new Tru-powers on freshly painted rims with freshly painted weights went for a swim. Last night I realized they are no longer under the lean to in front of the 123

Vince, wow! I heard there was 8 to 9+ inches of rain down that way. Also heard that the Kinnikinnic River was higher than it's ever been through River Falls. The last three photos before the Tru Power photo has some seriously high water!!!! Hope you find your tires and get everything dried out.

Vince - sorry to hear about your bad fortune. We had 5.5" here, but we're on high ground, so no damage. Hope you get everything dried out again, soon.

Wow, sorry to see than Vince. How far down the Rush is that? I mow a picnic area for a buddy just above the HWY 63 bridge in Martell. Maybe I should be on the lookout for some new Tru-powers . If you are below Martell I'm sure we will be looking for a picnic table and 4 Adirondack chairs if you happen to come across them. And possibly a dog house.

My damage wasn't bad, I lost about 3 tons of rock into the ditch off my driveway, got most of it back. My sump pump has pumped close to 7500 gallons since Monday. A few damaged houses around Hammond though, neighbors lost 3 retaining walls.

Glad to see the woodchuck found a high spot, not a lot of those around these parts.

Brian, this is less than a mile west of Baldwin. So maybe you will find a couple Tru Powers

Here is a photo of my dads brand new camper, 2 weeks old. This is in their front yard, good thing he didn’t park it in the back yard. Other houses n people in the area suffered a lot more damage.

Brian, after seeing Vince's post I was wondering if you were doing OK after all that rain. Good to hear you didn't have too much damage. Your sump pump is sure getting a workout!

Vince, wow, looks like he lucked out on where he parked the camper. Just curious, how long did that high water last before it subsided?

I only got 3.5" at my place near Somerset, WI and no damage. The family farm which is around 6 miles South of me got over 5" with no damage. My place is up on a bluff ~200' above the St. Croix River, with no chance of flooding, the farm is not in any real danger of flooding either.

Older neighbor guy who has lived just down the road all his life he has never seen water so high. By noon on Monday it had went down 2-3 feet.
I am not going there til later today or tomorrow. MY mom says they were very lucky compared to some neighboring houses.

There is a bridge out a half mile from their home, their 2 person backyard wood swing is in the field or ditch just past this bridge area. So my Tru Powers might be somewhere between their house and the Mississippi River...

Hey, I think I figured out how to post!!
Yeah guys, thanks for the comments, what a mess,
We saved most of basement, carpets mainly gone. Four vacuums, 3 were shop vaccine, two sump pumps, 150 ft hose,and lots of .help.
Once water receded, we could check the shop and lean-tos.
The 70 wouldn't start, but the trusty old original did. Course had to drain water out of engine. New oil,
New Gas , run as good as before, oh clutch was not right for a while.
70, 73, and one of 149s started after points were dried off.
Still more to go through as time permits, hard to change oil with mower deck on
My how fast they rusty,

More progress, 149 with loader, and another 149 running good,
Can't get 109 to keep running, will be waiting for new points, ne ed s more tuning too.
The 123 , 109, another 149, 102 and I'm not sure what else for later.
Unofficially in 1937, and 1993 this Rush river rose high, but not like this.
I can't imagine living in flood prone areas,
