I came across tires and rims from a 1970 Ford/Jacobsen 1400. Are the rims compatible with a Cub Cadet 127 from 1971?

I would say more that likely but need some more info. What's size are the tires? How many lug does it have?

BRAD - L&G tires/wheels were pretty standard among the different brands of equipment back then except for maybe two exceptions, Case/Ingersoll & JD's big model 400. Case/Ingersoll used a 8.00"x16" tire, MUCH taller than the normal 6-12 or 23-8.50 or 23-10.50 X 12's everyone else used. And the JD 400 used an odd bolt pattern to mount a 26-12.00X12 tire.

As long as both sets of tires are 23-8.50 X 12's or 23-10.50 X 12's they should at least bolt-up to Your 127, but the offset of the center disc in the wheel is different "I THINK" The wheels on a CC dish "OUT" or are concave, I think the Ford/Jacobson dished "In" or convex. The stamped wheel centers may be made so they can mount either way, I know JD's wheels were, the lug bolts on CC's have a taper under the head to locate the wheel correctly off the 5-hole bolt pattern. There should be a matching taper on the holes in the wheels, if there is Your in good shape, If there isn't I doubt if the lugbolts will stay tight and end up wearing the holes out-of-round on the wheels if they're run for long being loose.

If You check both sets of wheels out REAL closely, You'll find a little stamped "EWC" on the center disc of the wheel, there should be a letter and a 5-digit number like "F-12345" and if that number is the same You'll at least know the wheels will bolt up because the center discs are the same. The EWC stands for Electric Wheel Corp. Division of Firestone, who made ALL the early L&G tractor rims & wheels. They are now known as Titan Wheel located in Quincy, IL.

Brad, They may be "interchangeable" Dad bought a 149 a couple of years back and it had from what we could tell a Sears rim and Sears tire on it. We have since put a new set of tires and rims on the tractor but it was on there and fit.

Took a look at the rims and wasn't able to loacte any numbers. They have been painted over a few times. White was original followed by Ford blue then green camo. They don't look reversible. When I get them clean I might be able to locate number.
