I have another question, has anyone tried to put a deck washout port on a 48in deck? Because I would like to prevent any farther rust from happening to my deck.

If you are looking to prevent rust, adding the wash port is the last thing you want to do. Water and grass clippings make an acidic mixture that will rust the deck faster. The wash port won't get it 100% clean, and water will get in crevices between parts and rust it out anyway.

If you like to keep the deck from rusting out, do not mow wet grass, and periodically remove the deck and scrape off the buildup.

Don't do it!!! You will be setting your deck up for instant disaster. Follow advice--- don't mow wet grass--clean deck by removing from tractor and scrape the wet grass off that you should have not cut to begin with. No big deal to removing the deck. I use a wood (paint stir stick) to remove what stick to the deck.

Hey, good people of this form. I will be putting on a ih 36in snow thrower on the front of my tractor. I was wondering what belt size is needed to run the snow thrower? It runs down from the pto to a pully on the back of the snow thrower. Thanks for the help

Since we don't know what thrower or tractor it's on. Here ya go.

The snow thrower is a international harvester qa 36in. The tractor is a 1969 cub cadet 127 with hydraulic lift.

What would be the ih part number for hydro fluid used in a ih cub cadet 127? I want to change the fluid in it and I don't know what to use.

I finally got around to exposing the id tag on the tractor. It was covered by the rear weights. See picture of the id tag. I think i'm reading it right when this tractor was made in 1971. Can anyone confirm this?

I took the deck off today to put the snowblower on. But before I put the snowblower on. I thought I would give it an oil change. But I can't seem to get the drain bolt out. When I looked at it it's like no bolt i have ever seen before. (See pic) I'm stumped on what to do. Because regular hex sockets don't seem to grab it and box end wrench can't get enough leverage to get it free. Do they make sockets to grip this type of bolt? Or Any advice would be appreciated.

It's a pipe thread plug. Very common. You can't use 6- or 12-point sockets on it. Normally you'd use an open-end wrench, but that looks pretty mangled. Use a vise grip or crescent wrench, and get a new plug.

You're gonna love this. I am Jack Casey, go to my content or just search 'IH CC 982 oil drain plug' for a cool way to use an EZ Oil Drain valve. Makes oil draining fun rather than a chore. Really!

Thanks for the idea. It looks like from form posts i need an ez drain 110 to fit my kohler k301a. Can you confirm this before I buy it?

At some point they switched from pipe threads to a straight threaded plug with a flange, possibly when the material of the pan changed from cast iron to aluminum. So, they are not all the same. The pipe threads version is correct for the tractor in question though.

8 pt sockets can work.

I have a question, did they make a snow cab for the cub cadet 127? Has anyone tried adopting a modern snow cab to fit a cub cadet 127. I would like some protection from the cold and snow. So any advice would be great.

Yeah, i just came in from plowing. Totally soaked thighs. A cab would be nice. I wonder how bad they fog up. Wet boots, breathing out steam.
Anyone have input on foggy plastic windshield?
