So I am thinking about restoring my 1962 cub cadet original, my hood is bent, I can fix it, but I just got to thinking, why do these hoods even bend in the front anyway. All 3 of the originals we have have bent hoods
 
Previous owners running into stuff….. can also bend the grille back to where hood hits the steering wheel.

xtreme motorworks (colorful sponsor boxes above) makes reproduction hoods.

Yeah they carry them, I’m fortunate enough to have the tools to fix them instead of buying new ones, I just didn’t know if the emblem would catch on the grille and bend up or what
 
Funny that you are fixing the same hood that I'm fixing. I bent the front while towing it behind my Kubota. Now it's color matching issue? It's always something
