If that doesn’t work out you might want to try a Case-IH dealer. They used the Mitsu for their compact tractors for a number of years.

Upgrade NowThx for the information. After more research I found the NGK spec plug p/n of NGK-724U but it discontinued everywhere. I found them on JEGS, placed the order and it was canceled. Thx for your link included above. Looking at the images, it appears the tip diameter is the larger (5mm) variety. My application (Mitsubishi 3SL engine) although stated as compliant needs the 4mm diameter. The electrode diameter is not included at all in any specs - head scratcher! I have some plugs on order from both Ebay and Amazon, one due today. I cast a wide net hoping to find 4mm GPs that will work.Doing some surfing, it appears the Mitsu number is 32a66-03100. OR 32a66-03101 OR 32a66-03102. Is your NGK # a cross for these mitsu numbers? Heres the description that i got for the NGK 6628:
I think your auto store needs to try again.

Actually the good folks at Messicks would probably be willing to measure one for you. Give them a call.Just looked up the IH/Case IH part number. 1273118-C1 glow plug was used in all of the compact diesels (234, 244, 254, 235, 245, 255). Messicks has one in stock. It might be worth giving it a shot.
Thank you, I had seen that one on Messicks last week, the electrode is 5mm.Actually the good folks at Messicks would probably be willing to measure one for you. Give them a call.
Ouch. Very pricey as compared to the ones that are called out to fit that engine.Thank you, I had seen that one on Messicks last week, the electrode is 5mm.
I found the correct glow plugs on Amazon, purchased one to confirm, it arrived today. Now placed an order for more. Very pricey but the correct NGK GP that measures 4mm.

Yes, very pricey for sure. The NGK # is 724U which is discontinued by NGK. Explains the price gauging by this seller on Amazon.Ouch. Very pricey as compared to the ones that are called out to fit that engine.
Is there an actual NGK part number on the box? It would be nice to try and cross it without using the 31a66 number.
I guess they used a different Head with the 4mm opening.
Hello. A follow up on this issue. I received these plugs (pic above) from Amazon. They came marked/labeled as Mitsubishi glow plugs part number: 31A66-13200 (Made in Japan). I installed them and my machine fired right up! The temp was about 25 degrees.Thank you, I had seen that one on Messicks last week, the electrode is 5mm.

Too bad they beat you up on price but nice that it apparently solved the problem.Hello. A follow up on this issue. I received these plugs (pic above) from Amazon. I took the time to remeasure the resistance on the old ones once I had them inside on my work bench. I had readings of 72, 40 and 12 ohms on each of them. So needless to say they were adequate to start the machine in warmer weather but not the case when the temps dipped in the 30's.
Appreciate all the input.
Thx, here in CT we have seen single digit cold, not likely I'll be too motivated to work on the tractor in those temps.Too bad they beat you up on price but nice that it apparently solved the problem.
If you get bored during the Summer, you really may want to consider the Block heater. Im not sure what you consider Cold. If 25 is cold, then you are good without Heater but if you see a lot of single digits and lower, a Block heater takes a big strain off the engine.
No, no. Summer time. There are 2 main companies that make these heaters. Hot Start and ZeroStart (phillips&tempo). Kat's heaters, i think, are made by the other guys.Thx, here in CT we have seen single digit cold, not likely I'll be too motivated to work on the tractor in those temps.

Some of these heaters are installed by simply removing a Plug in the Block. Mine required I remove a Freeze-out Plug.
We MIGHT see 11 degrees today. Single digits all day tomorrow.
