I've been trying to locate how much oil/grease goes in the tiller gearbox. The FAQs state what to use but not how much. I have the stamped cover on this box so I need to use grease. Unlike the steering box I think this gearbox needs a little air inside as well.

Any gearbox specialists? If there's a manual for just the gearbox I'd appreciate someone posting a link to it.

TIA....Wayne

This might not be correct ! but I filled the bigger part of the box with a mixture of 80/90 gear lube and high speed bearing grease and put the cover on.I wanted a fluid like mixture so there would be grease on the gears at all times. when I took my box apart the grease that was in it had all gone hard and well I would not have helped the gears running dry. So that is why I mixed the two together.Just my .02

Pto clutch - While I am no expert I just had the issue with mine. A quick check of the air gap was 0.027. Adjusted it to 0.015 (high suggested range) and works great. Took all of ten minutes. Planning on rechecking after I mow the yard. To maybe go on the low range (0.010).

You can also find the instructions in your machine manual.

Good luck

Kraig, Thanks for the welcome. I just got home with it and was looking over the manual. I wonder what tractor that cab belongs to? Oh well, it'll keep me a little warmer come Jan. and Feb. here in Michigan.

Thanks Don-

I guess I'll do something of that nature. Charlie says in his FAQs he goes with 75% grease and 25% 90wt. I had an old timer tell me the same mixture (roughly) for Gravely gearboxes and it does make sense.

You got your snow blower/thrower ready yet? It won't be long before you'll be needing it. What tractor do you plan to use with it?

Thanks again.

John Henry Wiegerink, the cab is probably correct for your tractor. The decals were added by the previous owner. The only difference between a 1250 and 1650 is engine and decals. Your pictures are small but it appears your 1250 has no headlights.

Please post better pictures when you get the time.

Are the rear wheels a different width for 8.5" and 10.5" wide tires. Need to find a rim and want to make sure I find the right one. thanks

Todd,
"Can anyone please tell me if the frame from a 126 and a 102 are the same?"

Why do you ask? Working on a project?

I have broken the drive pin, front of driveshaft, rear of motor, even with the shaft on my 125. I have tried to drive the pin out with no luck. It stopped in a bad place and the tow lever is broken. So, it will not move nor can I tow it. Any suggestions?
