Don, your shop looks way too organized! Neatly stacked items on the shelf, plenty of floor space. I sure wish I had a shop like that. My shed is way to small and cluttered.

ART, I have never worked on a O so I was probably wrong and gave out some miss-information on the shifter. The top just looked like the later transmissions and the weld is usually the culprit on them.

Any tips or suggestions for putting on the decals? I hope to get to that stage very soon. Also K4K came with a 3 terminal regulator and the harness is for a 4 terminal. Can I use the 3 terminal regulator in it or do I need to round up a 4 terminal regulator? If I can use it where do I connect the load wire?

New to these forums, so if this is the wrong place forgive me. I just aquired a 149 with the mowing deck and a tiller attachment. This guy survived a flood last year and is now in need of some work. I'm sure I'll be looking to you guys for lots of advice.

Tony-
Welcome!

Richard-
It's OK, honestly, I'm not sure what I said is correct, and I've had two of those things apart. I guess CRS is kicking in.. I'd just need to have the parts (apart) in my hand again, but I thought they were different....hence my post.

I could be wrong...

Kraig-
You're right, you do have a cluttered....

Er....

I mean, Don does have an organized shop!

(I thought the same thing when he posted that picture.)

Art, come on, admit it, you were thinking mind when you wrote "Kraig- You're right, you do have a cluttered...."

I forgot to mention that I also installed the new muffler in the K161 for K4K.

Kraig-
Well.....OK.....maybe I did....

If you keep posting all of these "progress" photos, I'm going to go back to my old mantra about where you should be this weekend! LOL!

Kraig- Don't know if this is what you were asking, and it's just hearsay from a body man about 36 years ago, but here's what I was told about decal placement. Get a spray bottle with some dish soap diluted down ( a lot) with water, and spray the surface with it enough to keep the surface wet, then place the decal on the wet surface. It'll give you time to locate the decal. Then very carefully squeegy out all the bubbles and soapy water. Apperantly the soap won't effect the contact of the decal, after it dries.

Kraig- To just to help you unclutter your shed, and me being a nice guy, let me know when to stop by and I'll take that cab out of your way!!

Well put the battery in the 107 today with custom gas tank that i use to trouble shoot fuel problems. i think the 10 K will slide right in the 125 so it will be able to move her to the back shed for winter storage. My 2 O don`t run untill Charlie gets my 2 fuel bowls here. I`am real tired of pushing them around lol.

Curtis, and Kraig, I use a spray glass cleaner (Windex etc.)instead of dish soap for decals and follow the body man's advise as far as bubbles or placement. It has worked for me for years. Works on window tinting also if ya want to do your cab.

It is time to rewire my 147. I have patched the wires in so many places that I have jumpers on most every wire. Those wire sure are brittle.

I want to get a new harness from one of the site sponsors. That is the easy part. How much do I have to take apart to run the new wires?

I have replaced the ignition switch without removing the engine, but it was tight work. Is removing the engine recommended when running a new wiring harness ?

Thanks,
Paul

Kraig this was written in an operators manual for a 70/100 I pulled off the web somewhere.

Feels nice to get one back together after being torn apart for a while, don't it? The O' looks great BTW. I'd like to do another someday. I just can't get into this 100 I got.

Kraig,
I forgot to mention that I read somewhere that depending on where you got your dash decal you may need to install the decal before installing the steering column grommet. Supposedly from the factory the decal was installed first and the grommet partially cover the decal. I got my decals from the guy in Fenton, MO that sells on eBay and it was not sized to where I really needed to put it under the grommet.

Your's may be different.

Curtis, Carl, yes those are the type of hints I'm looking for. I've heard similar suggestions before but wanted clarification. THANKS!

Lyle, which Windbreaker cab, the NF assembled one with the amber strobe, the NF folded up one under the empty bird food bag or the NOS WF one in the box buried in the corner?
dunno.gif

Don, that K161 has been setting there since 2004. I bought it as a rebuilt engine. The K161 that came in K4K is setting on the floor in my garage collecting dust on it's greasy surfaces.

Keith, that's what I'm looking for!

Thanks! On the dash decal, thanks for the heads, up I'll have to have a look at that tonight. I hope it fits OK.
