Glen,

There is a write up in one of the FAQ's (I think) about rebuilding the valves. It involves using a metal lathe and a welder. It may be more involved that most want to tackle. And it can only be done once per valve.

Our sponsors do have replacement valves.

Charlie, You lucky

you! I thought you said there wasn't much good garage sale stuff up your way?

Tom, if Charlie is buying up all those tractors, does that mean no one else is buying them??? Maybe he is going to fix them up and ship them to China to help restore the Balance of Trade! Do they work well in rice paddies?

Ill try the screwdriver trick, if not looks like an expensive replacement as I do not have access to a precision lathe currently. Ill check my parts bin, I swear I have one extra that came in a box my uncle gave me, have to see if I can find it.

Glen-

Have you taken the valve out? If not, I'd try giving it a good cleaning. I've found them with a little rust towards the top but after cleaning and working the little ball with a thin instrument/tool it works fine. You can work the button too back and forth. It should pop up on its own.

It's a good idea to stick a clean rag over the hole when the valve comes out. It doesn't take much as far as trash goes.

Just a thought...good luck!

. Then once fixed you can do THIS with your newly repaired/replaced valves.

Glen C. Don't quote me on this however somewhere in my wildest dreams, (or a hidden youtube video) someone suggested using brake cleaner to "puff" up the o-rings inside the leaking valve. I don't recommend it though.

And finally... No FARMALL should end up like this poor guy did. Dragster FARMALL

Marlin, thank you for sharing! I like those MONSTER rear tires, wonder if my 149 will tuck em in haha, Im gonna pull the valves out tomorrow and clean them again. The leaky one does have a rusted button plunger doohickey (again with the technical terms) so I think a good emery cloth and WD40 treatment will help some. If not, Ill deal with the leak until I can get a set of new valves.
