Looking back at my previous post, I just realized I missed taking a pic of the restored "original" Spirit of 76 Cub Cadet. Its sitting near the center of this pic. Poor thing got left out. Now I will have to get a single pic of it tomorrow.

Andrew S, You have to have the undercarriage that fits your tractor but the cutting bar will fit any of the undercarriages. I think.

Melody,
I hope you and your cubs escaped the floods...

Scott T, Yes, Thanks for asking. It got up to Main St, but not up my street. The cubs were tucked away in the garage.

Getting ready to buy an HVLP spray gun from Northern Tool for painting CC's. Should I get a 1.4mm nozzle or a 2.3mm? Which is best?

SCOTT N. - Saw your questions about my work lights. I've had those lights for probably 30 years, been on a couple different tractors, but I think they've found a permanent home now. There was already a switch on my 982 from a prior owner when I got it so wired up those lights and a rear work light too.

I wouldn't do a thing different. IH 88-series tractors actually gave me the idea for them, they had side facing lights on the bottom front cab corners. I only mow, dethatch, and pull my tandem axle hyd. dump cart with the 982 but they've never been in the way of anything.

I'd look at J.C. Whitney or some place like that for something similar. I think a Honda Civic had something like them for backup lights back when they first came out in 1972 thru 1979.

LED's are nice in that they don't use much power but I think their light beam is WAY too directional to be useful. You want a wide flood beam.

Here's the pic of the Spirit of 76 I missed taking yesterday. I know it should be posted in the Cadet lawn tractor topic. I apologize.

I will have more pics posted in the "off topic tractors" and the "IH Cub Cadet's larger relatives" sections.

Norm get them both one can spray fill primer while the other one with spray paint

Kirk: No apoligizes necessary from my point of view (no pun intended). That's a beauty and I wouldn't have seen it in the lawn tractor thread. (Well, maybe someday).

ALLEN - I answered Scott's question.....

I normally don't "Break" the forum.... but sometimes it happens.

Charlie will spank me accordingly.

I am tearing down my 104 to see what the deal is with it after buying it. I noticed the gear shifter turns completely around. Any ideas on this? I have no idea what the history is on this machine what so ever. Tim P.

I have a question on a QA 42 snow blower. I am replacing the needle bearings on the power shaft and noticed that one casting that holds the power shaft, shear pin and roller chain gear has a groove worn into it from the gear. This groove makes the gear pretty sloppy (about 1/4 inch) between the castings. I do not think that this groove is suppose to be there and if it was not there the gear would have a nice fit. Am I correct on this assumption.
Here is a picture of the gear showing the space if I push the gear into the worn groove.

If I am correct I can grind the casting smooth and insert a washer.

Thanks for any info

Matt & Dave

It probably is a good idea to have both but can only get one for right now. I ordered the 1.4.

Thanks Guys!

Got the 3 new additions to the herd home tonight from half way across North Dakota.
I just couldn't out run them!

Oh yea, don't pull into a John Deere dealer with a load of Cubs and ask what they want for an Cub trade in on the lot.
They look at ya funny, LOL

Under Edit,
He said i didn't have room for any more.
I told him that it would take about 10 minutes to turn what I had sideways and have room for 2 more easy,
