KRAIG - What's this "Got dark so had to quit mowing"? I've mowed until 2 AM many times.... That's why My neighbors luv Me so much!

Steve B. (AKA Mr. Plow) You going to Wilson & Easy Bob's plow day? We need some Forum representation! Wilson offered Me the job Hank Will had two yrs ago, Hanging out of a low flying airplane taking pic's. I gracefully declined.

KENDELL - Unless You disturb something on a Cubbie the clutch on a gear drive only needs adjustment about once every 10-12 yrs if You abuse it really bad. About as often as a Hysro trunion needs rebuilt. hehehe. My idea for the driveshaft brake came from My FARMALL H/4 chassis service manual reprint I got from Harvester Press, IH's operator, service manual & parts book printer back in 1980, or '81. The countershaft brake was standard on the I-4 Industrial tractor first built in 1939 or 1940, It may have been available before then on the industrial versions of the F-12/14, F-20/30/40's. Todd Markle (FARMALL GRAY) would know for sure.
And to add to the discussion, The heim joints on My 72 are about 26-27 yrs old...They were originally for hyd. valve control on track mounted excavators, They still show no signs of wear.

Kraig, Looking good there.

I think I will try the clear lacquer too. On the throttle knob, why don't you just replace the knob, they get kind of brittle when they get old.

Tim, yep, a mod by a previous owner. Not sure why they did that. It also has one old style collar/roll pin spindle cap and one newer bolt/washer spindle cap.

Art, thanks.

Denny, I have the back yard to finish up tonight. I did mow the field paths with the lights on for a half hour or so. The #2 125 has both the stock lights and the stalk mounted lights so it's well lit for mowing but I wanted to get to work on K4K.

Richard, thanks! This throttle control knob isn't cracked yet and I have a little of the black epoxy appliance paint left so....

My #2 125 had a Heim joint on the drag link when I bought it back it 1993. I've not had to do anything to it which you can plainly see.

I think I like working on my dusty, greasy #2 125 more then the shiny Original, I don't have to worry about scratching the 125's paint. Though I don't like to disturb the dusty grease patina either.

Kraig-
I think you can still get those throttle control knobs. Check with the site sponsors or a JD dealer. (Hint, hint...)

Art, thanks I'll check with my brother. I'm still gonna try painting this one.

I need a choke cable assembly too. The one I have is shot.

John-David, I echo Kraig's words, thank you for the tip on the clear lacquer and paint from Ace. I'll be stopping there after work to buy their last 3 cans of school bus yellow and a couple cans of clear lacquer. I need to paint some wheel weights yet this week before plow day on Saturday.

Kraig, the K4K is looking awesome!
