Parts lists are handy for more than just listing parts. The diagrams are useful as well, as are the part descriptions, helping one piece things back togther when you forgot how they came apart

KRAIG - That heavy cast iron grill casting bolts to the frame with 1/4" bolts?

Bryan-

Have you ever actually tried one of those Gates green belts? The zero turn mower we have would eat one belt a month until we got the gates belt, which has been on for four years with no problems. My 1810 also has had a gates green belt on it for the past three years. Once again, no problems.

So does anyone else have Plow day on the brain. Any ideas on what the date might possibly be so i can let jennifer know if she gets to go to the homecoming dance or not?

I use two green belts on the 59M cuz I smoke 'em REAL quick, one on the front sickle cuz there's no IH part number for one and one on the QA42A cuz I have a smaller driven pulley. Straight runs. Otherwise I use OEM belts. Even when I had my 1A tiller.

Some day the "will fit" method will bite you in the a$$

Bruce & Don,

Thanks for your expert opinion, guys. I'm going to take both cylinders into the machine shop tomorrow. I've got to get the exhaust valves ground to 30 deg. and I'll see what the whole shabang going to cost. I agree, I really would like to do both cylinders but I like your idea, Don, makes sense if balance is the concern. Has anyone ever done that? The good cylinder measures excellent after honing and valves & piston looks good. I'll let you know how I come out.
Thanks a bunch for your help

Web page of pictures of all the models of Cubs

Well, I thought for sure that this would be in the FAQ but after extensive (perhaps not complete, but pretty darned close) review of all the stuff here (got sidetracked a few times looking at things I didn't know existed) I am unable to find a link to a guy's web page that lists all the types of cubs made, including frequently having a picture so those of us who own only one cub (sob) can figure out what the others look like when people mention them here.

Anyone know of the site of which I am dreaming of? It had a nice layout, not all the pictures were online, but many were. Thanks for any leads.

That's it!

I'm signing up for the Jack Johnson memory system, or was it the Jim Johanson memory thingie, but that was it. Thanks.

Dale,

ROTFLMAO!!!!! What you really need is the Jeff Johnson Vocabulary Builder-Upper!!!!!

RE: Gates Green Belts. They have saved me on the weekend when only auto parts stores are open. Keep in mind though that they aren't available in fractional lengths, just whole inches. Most of the things I've worked on need a fractional length and when you try the next size lower, usually it is way too tight and puts a lot of stress on bearings. Kenny

I heard that the Jimmy Johnson Memory System will help you with remembering names, phone numbers, where you left your keys, and even people's names and phone numbers.

gotta love b&t

That's my whole point in using them on the 59M and QA42A - it's usually Sunday morning and I either have a pile of brush or a pile of snow that needs to be taken care of. And the True Value down the road has those green belts...

I am glad to know that my site is still useful. Maybe some day I will get to finish it.

Guy has a 10E Sears rider with snow BLOWER, He says,

<!-quote-!>quote:

All around just a good powerful tractor, and If I had a mower deck for it,I'd keep it and bury my MORE BRAGGED ABOUT,AND LESS USEFUL CUB CADET!!!<!-/quote-!>

Hmmmmmm, LOL

Charlie, I wonder if his "Cub Cadet" is a Cadet 80?)
