Gee Tim,
Looks like you need a head gasket...Put one on it and see how it runs,at least it is worth a try,Also if you do rebuild,it you can still reuse the head gasket....Looks like an lp head on there,what is the part # under all that oil???

That is not an LP head.

This is a no doubt simple question. Can I use a mower deck from a narrow frame(125) on a wide frame (128)?

Tcampbell, Yes, you may have to take the sub frame with it depending on what your doing.

Does any one know if the link lift for sleeve hitch, 3 point hitch,etc came standard or an option on the wideframes?
