SHULTZIE - Good luck trying to find that golf ball retriever Kraig posted the pic of.

I would think your lawn sweeper would work O-K. If not I guess a rake to rake the walnuts into a pile and an aluminum scoop shove to scoop them up are my next suggestion. They are kinda heavy.

The old Parker sweeper I used to have would pick up pine cones pretty well.

Ohhhh and BTW.... we "reserve" the phrase, "I have a quick question" for ONLY Bill J's use. You have something you want to ask.... just BLURT it right on out here!

JEFF - Give them time... All hydros will eventually leak and creep.

All the joints in the speed control linkage wear. And if the cork gasket doesn't leak, it probably will soon, or it's really low on Hy-Tran, or the rear axle carrier outer seals, and even the inner gaskets can/will leak, or the pump input shaft seal or trunnion shaft seals will leak.

The idea IH had of over-filling the rearend housing with Hy-Tran was great, but it IS prone to leakage as the years & hours add up.

Only CC I ever had that didn't leak was the 70 that SON now has. The 72 leaked from the ends of the axle carriers until I replaced the carriers with a pair from a 123 that had the needle bearings instead of the plain bushings, with new seals in them of course. You fill the rearend two inches OVER the top of the axle shafts and oil will eventually leak out.

Picking up walnuts... that's what the squirrels are there for.

Seriously, give them time and they will remove them all for you. I've never picked up walnuts and I have three large trees.

Kevin, I have ten black walnut trees in the back of my house and more farther back that I don't cut grass under. I don't think there's enough squirrels in the county to get them all. They do get all the hickory nuts though. I think the hickory nuts taste better too. If I find one whole on the ground I know its not any good. I could sell them but the nearest distributor is like 50 miles away.

Putting my 42" blade back together after sandblast, repairs and repaint. Been banging my head against the puter for an hour trying to source the correct decal for it w/no luck.

This after getting one from Theisens that's too large. Anyone have a source for the correct one?

That's the one- the decal is a near match to original.

On a nut related subject- pick up and eat the Hickory nuts and MOW the black walnut ones.

KT17 Craburetor kitS?
25 757 01s and 02s.... anyone know what teh difference is? They supposedly both fit the KT17 carb and the kit has the same number of replacement parts. Is one more Ethanol friendly perhaps?

Hydro's and Gear Drives - this new-to-me 1250 already left its mark on my trailer during the ride home. The Cub with the snowplow is the 1250, the one in back is the 1650 with a 10hp motor. The 1250 will get a hydro lift in the next year or so

But...my 122 - my plowing Gear Drive Cub Cadet has also sprung its own leak. No pics of this yet.

Since I don't get the opportunity to move snow anymore, I spent quality time this year moving bushels of apples with the blade. Almost as much fun, and the fall smells and warmer weather were great..

Btw Jeff - maybe I was trying to invent a cord winder back then..... (like a squirrel keeps track of his uh.... nuts, be sure to keep track of any Christmas tree light cords buried under the snow...)
