Have a slight problem.

The shifter broke, it still goes in and out of gear but the lever slopes all over. I hope this doesn't ruin plow day for the old girl.

Scott S. I was going to purchase a new harness for my 100 I'm rebuilding and would be interested in yours if you aren't going to use it. Shoot me an email. Mike.

Still plugging along with the 1650 rebuild. It's a good thing I've done a lot of these Quietlines or I wouldn't remember where the pieces go with as long as it takes me from start to finish anymore.

Started with this:

I had a littler time, so I searched on "Shifter" AND " fix" and came up with a pretty good thread on fixing the older shifters. This is an oldie, but goody (scroll most of the way down the page...

Richard, looking good! Do you have two "in process"?

A dumb question from a tinkerer... I thought wide frames were wide all the way to the rear, but looking at Richard C.'s pictures, it seems they are wide in front but narrow in back. Is this really so? Is it so bigger motors could be used but maintain use of existing transmissions?

Allen since they all have the same rear end i think the frame remand the same for all. but the 147 was a narrow frame tractor, first with a 14 hp but the last.Later Don T (hope this helped)

Kendell,

Thanks! That was the exact one that I book marked before I went to work, so I haven't had time to completly read it yet.

Should I tear hair on this thing tomorrow morning to try and get it repaired before pd or will it hurt to let it go till I get back? I've got access to welders, metal and the tools but I don't know how long it would take. Not sure how long it takes just to get to the top of the shifter for that matter. Feel free to jump in on this one, don't really know which way to go on this one.

I got the clutch pivot mount bent back to place, man it sure does work better! Put a new brass wear button for front pto (what fun!) I "ran out the old gas" today and pushed just about everything I could think of with the blade which still doesnt sit level after bending and grunting! I added a huge index file which must wiegh around 250 lbs. for the Cub shed. I picked it up from work for nothing. I had to have my "small" co-worker help me get it in the back of a S-10 Blazer, it just squeeked in! Here it is.

I can put all of my tools and small stuff in there plus my jack stands and jack in the bottom. All of my nuts and bolts and still have a ton of room for whatever!

Kraig I always have at least two in process at one time. I guess I just can't stay focused on one project at a time. By the time I have one finished I'm already thinking about two more.

I really, really need to get on that pickup I want to do. Someone gave me a Craftsman mower with a 17 hp twin Briggs and a hydro rear end the other day and I got the idea of using that to build a pickup so I wouldn't have to tear up a Cub. I decided to get it running before I started building anything. Got the engine running good and tried it out around the yard and the street. What a piece of $#!+ they are. I drove it out back of the garage and pulled the battery. Its free to the first neighbor that wants it.

Brian B:
Can't help you there -(got a 129 and a 149..). It won't get fixed though, if all you do is wonder...... (you KNOW you can strip that sucker down and get it fixed before PD, if you really want to

The picture in Hank Wills book on page 37 shows one withoutit.....Just wondering......

anyone help me out on this one? I have a 125 (k301), carb. leaks gas from the float bowl after I shut the machine down, it leaks pretty darn fast, this happened all the sudden.....

Brian B., get that 122 fixed up and show them hydros a thing or two at plowday! After all gear drives are best for ground engaging equipment.

Great idea Don T, good lookin out!If it wasnt me(and I know it would be) to knock it off the bench it would be one of the kids!
Kraig did you paint the Killer kohler? You sure did a great job Id love to build one similar to it but maybe after the kids move out!! Just paint for now!
Richard the 1650 is lookin great!

Mike G:
Bad float, or crap keeping the needle from seating (or the bowl is loose)...

Kurt R,

Nice find there. Three attachments many of us would like to find. The blade on the back of your #40 box scraper was an optional attachment for it.
