Dustin, photo is kind of small but it appears to be a gear drive and also appears to have a molded rubber seat which would indicate that it is a 102.

Dustin - Looks like your CC is a 102/122 if a gear drive or a 123 if a hydrostatic drive. 10 HP K241 Kohler would make it a 102, 12 HP K301 Kohler a 122. A K241 has a flat bottom oil pan, K301 has a deep sump towards the front of the tractor sticking down about two inches the whole width of the engine.

Would have been built mid-year 1964.

Welcome to IHCC.com

Here's how it would have originally been painted.

Denny, actually that S/N places it in a September 1967 build.

KRAIG - I didn't check the monthly serial number list, just the home page list. 218009 was a Nov. '67 build and I winged it for when a tractor about 4300 before that would have been built.

I would guess it was an early Sept. build.

Dustin Welcom enjoy your cub,, watch out they can be addicting

I have this habit of scouting the back ground of a picture posted. I know I`am not alone doing this.

Looks like a worker . heck I bet you know that will cost you a few more cubs. I remember You got to have a Cub for every attachment I read on here when I was new , two will bring more I bet. Having fun and learning is it . and when your done you get to boast. the rest ; sit Cubs Work.

Dustin; If it's hydrostatic maybe it once looked like this:

Hydro question for the experts. I have recently successfully rebuilt 2 different Sundstrand 15U units, and have one more Quietline in need of the Hydro R&R. I have located a new 15U unit for what I believe is a Super type of cub (Splined input shaft, and splined output shaft on backside. If I were to tear down the new to me unit and replace the input shaft with a correct one, should I expect any issues? (i.e. anything else different between these units?)

Rob,

Implement relief will be shimmed to higher pressure and there has been issues with output gear/reduction gear when installing SGT hydro in std. GT trans (not sure if it's a hydro or reduction gear issue from memory).

I would consider moving the splined hydro to another collector who needs it and finding a std for the rebuild just to be safe.

IF you proceed, you will need a place for that input shaft, since it won't fit your std units........send it my way and I'll dispose of it properly.

Question for all the Cub electrical knowledge guys. Are all voltage regulators the same ? do Cub Cadets have a special one made just for them ? Thanks Don T

Rob Neubauer

I can tell you that I took the input shaft out of the pump (hydro) on my 1512 and replace it with the shaft from a pump from a 149. I have used the 1512 for a few years now with no issues.

Don & Steve,

Thanks for the reply. I will look at both units side by side ensure they are compatible.

Steve-FYI I routinely pay my garbage bill at the house and they will not charge me anything extra to dispose of that SGT input shaft.

DON - Yes, CC's have a "Special" voltage regulator just for them. Two different types in fact! If they could use the cheap 1950's vintage Delco-Remy VR then IH & MTD dealers couldn't charge near as much for them!

Way I understand it, all has to do with the starter/generator.

Steve,

It is all good. If I have no need for that part, I will put your name first on the list to receive it.

Rob

My friend Herb (pictured below), who keeps many of my Cub Cadets at his place, has been picking up and saving pine cones all summer and fall. I told him that when I thought he had enough collected, we'd fire up the 100 with the 59M chipper/shredder and pulverize them. Well, today was the day and we had a blast. He was impressed with the fine mulch it produced. The 59M in action caught the attention of a passing motorist, who stopped. He happened to be a garden tractor collector (all makes), and he had never seen a 59M, much less one in action. It was a good day!
