I'd never had a problem (Points and Condenser on my 129 are original on the 1995 crate motor), but by all the negative comments, I would have thought they must be being made in Outer Mongolia, hence the suggestion..

Guys I need help please! I have a cub cadet 149 hydraulic lift! I was moving some dirt around in my backyard with the plow. The plow was working perfectly everything was going up and down with no problem then all of a sudden the plow went down and never came back Up. I took the dog house off and can see the hydraulics moving. the piston going in a out. The valve body has no oil on it! I checked the hydraulic fluid level it full. Can anyone help please? You can call or text me (860)922-6072

Hey guys..Does anyone have the measurements for the lift rod for a QA42A snowthrower? If I buy it, I will be mounting it on my 126. Are the pretty common to buy? What would be a decent price for one?

Also. considering the weight of the snowthrower..Will a spring assist for the rockshaft be stout enough to be of real use in helping raise the snowthrower with the hand lift arm?

Thanks y'all
Regards
John

Doug I checked all the pins not to say I didn't miss one. If I take the plow off. The linkage moves but if I hold resistance against it with my hand it slows down or stops it.

I just looked again I don't see any roll pins missing! The outer piece on the tractor that holds the rod for the plow will move without the plow but like I said if I add A little resistance it stops moving.
Thanks for any help

If the pin breaks it probably wouldn't fall out. The pieces will stay in. The shaft might turn a little and the catch when doing it by hand but trying to lift the weight the shaft will just turn. That sounds like what is happening.

I appreciate your help! I agree that it could be a pin. I will have to look into it. Have anyone ever have the valve body go bad?

Hey all, just installed hydralic lift on cc 100, The clutch cover is not going to fit now....so do I trim this one or is there one to fit? Also the rock shaft travel is limited by opening in frame (in raised position) as opposed to lift cylinder stroke, any frame mods needed?

I just want to say thanks for the help! It was a pin that had rotted but looked fine.

Put a new battery in the 73, when I went to start the tractor, I noticed a "Puff" ahead of the motor, at first Ithought it was the muffler.. but no, holding my hand in front of the head and sure enough - the head gasket has let go.

Been there since "88"... I guess that's been a good run.

Can anyone tell me if the welders from harbor freight are junk?
I have some repaires to make on the cubbies.
Thanks

Mike F - "been there since '88". Geez, what ever happened to de-carboning the head every 500 hours??? 1988 is 27 years ago and 500 divided by 27 is about 18.5 hours of run time a year. Somehow I think you put more than that on it each year. Ya gotta keep up with the maintainence or the next time you go to start it it's gonna go BANG!!!

Harry B

There are a few carbon cleaners around that work great without removing the head. I use one brand on all my small engines. just add some to the gas and that takes care of the carbon .

Guilty as charged!

I totally agree, VERY impressed with where he has gone in life! Bet there are some parents out there who wished he was their kid!

Before Charlies hammer comes down on me....

Trying to get the Sims cab (hard shell) on the 982 this past weekend and have a few questions. It came off a quiet line series tractor supposedly so I have to do some modifications to it. Where is the best starting point to fitting it to the 982? Start with the rear of the cab so it is sitting on the rear fenders at the correct point and bolt it down OR do what Matt did on his web-site with the foot boards and then front posts and go from there? It doesn't look like it will be sitting too far forward on the hood the way I have it sitting there so far. My issue is it seems "twisted" and the door latches are catching when I close them. Mind you I do not have it bolted to the tractor, just front, back, and roof bolted together with doors hanging on the corner posts.

None of the pre-drilled holes on the floor boards line up with the ones currently being used to hold fenders on. So will need to re-drill the cab floor boards no matter what. The ones on the back of the cab are out as well. Thinking I will need to make a plate or a wedge out of wood to bolt the back down, it has a slant on it towards the battery. I need to make fenders for the cab to extend out over the regular fenders on the 982, as well likely going to trim the door to square it up to the profile of the 982 as well. Think it will look better and seal it up nicer.
Suggestions?
