Scott N. Thank You for your thoughts. Right now I don't have to sell any of them. Yes one day in the next couple of years I'm looking into retiring. All would make great retirement projects but I'm beginning to look into doing some traveling and perhaps some other things. I'm still planning on attending Plow Day at Rockford only last night the friend that was going with found out they have to work that day. It would probably do me good to go to Rockford only I sure don't want to go alone.

I'll start a thread in Comings and Goings where we can discuss things further... check there.

I think this is what happens when Aaron has a bad dream!!!!

At least put some 82 series fenders on it and paint it all red!

Ethan,

I told you I couldn't just work on one tractor at a time.

Let’s up the ante..four wheel drive articulated cub with a cylinder kubota diesel.Ultimate cool

Snow blower.
It is getting time to start thinking about the snow blower. I have a car power window unit to turn the chute side to side, but I would like to be able to control the tip so I can throw snow close or far. Has anyone made something to raise or lower the tip of the chute from the seat?
Any comments appreciated
Earl L

Ray-I’d do black if it were mine...but I believe yellow is correct if your looking for authenticity

I think 4x4 articulating Cub Cadets are cool.

Ray, I would paint the steering column yellow, that would be more correct as to how it came from IH. Black would indicate a replacement steering column.

Earl,
some car power windows use a motor to push/pull a plastic track, or cables that could be used to move the chute deflector. a standard motor with the gear could be used if you mount the large toothed sprocket to the deflector pivot, too

David S,

I'm guessing that end would screw out since there is a place on it for a wrench. Is that some sort of retaining pin/button next to the end piece?

You could measure the O-rings and get a replacement.
I have access to a few O-rings. If you could get me their size, I could send them to you if I have a match.

Just found out what kind of oil to put in the cubs......

Earl - wander into one of the Lawn and Garden shops and take a look at the larger walk behinds.. IIRC several of the larger brands use a cable control for the chute elevation.

Lots of older posts on chute rotation driver setups. If I remember right, Scott did a pretty nifty setup..
