Turned the page - I'll turn the light on for you guys. Previous post was looking for the current owner of Geezer DeTurck's Original with the front mounted M&W mower. Thank you!

Regards static timing, years ago working on snowmobiles the only way to check/adjust was static timing. On sleds the spark plug hole was over the top of the piston so you could use a dial indicator. Of course you can do this on the K series because of the spark plug arrangement.

I'm not much on snow anymore. But, there is just something therapeutic about Blunier ramming speed when you get into the governor!

Hello All!

No one is more ready for using our IH Cub Cadets this winter than the folks at the best forum on the web, IH Cub Cadet.com!

Here on the north coast, in the Great Snow Belt of Ohio, local weather guesser is calling for 6" of the white stuff by morning. We'll see!

So, with that in mind, I greased all 10 grease fittings on my 1450. Checked the tire pressure, oil, hytran level, fuel cell was topped off with 93 grade gasoline, and I started the 1450 and let it run for 10 minutes! All is good and all is ready!

John-Glad you're ready. I just put the engine back in the 1250 after new mounts and drive train. After the Ohio State game I'll finish it up and put the blower on. Then I'll be ready also. I'm north of you and nothing yet.

Got some shop time today. Figured I'd better get the pesky HyTran leak fixed. This was my tiller rig this year and it has seeped fluid ever since I hung the #2 on it last spring.

Going to use it on the hydra angle blade this winter, It leaks as well but that's another project.

Anyway, doing it like this saved having to drain all of it out. Had changed the fluid and filter last year and didn't want to risk getting it dirty by draining it out and reinstalling the stuff.

As usual, Princess was right in the middle of things, taking time off from her new role as "house Cat"

John L - where are the 10 grease zerks on your 1450? I know the 1 in the center of the front axle 2 on the spindles and 1 at the bottom of the steering box

Frank C - from spud land Maine or maybe tree country - you don't need a buddy with a 14 hup engine. Timing hole should be same side as points

Hello Hydro Harry! Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

I would like to take after Charlie and install a grease fitting in the rear lift that I have on my 1450, and that would bring the total number of fittings to 11!

Ok, here goes.... I got from Cub Cadet two new front rims which are the wide style with new inner and outer wheel bearings that are 1 inch inside diameter to mate the 1 inch wheel spindle upgrade. Turns out to be 1 grease fitting on the inside of each new rim.

Next, I purchased from Charlie a while ago, all new heavy duty tie rod ends with a grease fitting on each; 2 for the drag link, and 2 for the tie rod. We're up to 6 at this point.

Count the 3 on the front axel, and 1 on the Ross automotive steering unit and the total comes to be 10 grease fittings.

On a side note, no 1450 action clearing snow yet this year. While the weather produced a lot of snow, and the temperature is now 25*, the gravel driveway, and the roadways remained largely clear. We did not receive all the snow fall predicted.

I'm ready to use my 1450!

Dale - Its nice to see the 800 again! That top cover is going to look great too. So, you are making progress to the 800? I have the 50" mower deck for my 1450 to refurbish and paint next.

I love the forum found here at IH Cub Cadet.com!Keep up the good information fellow enthusiasts!

12+" of snow over in my neck of the woods, and the snow equipment is still in the shed.

I think he was busy running a fleet of cubs at O'Hare

Charlie,
I still need to get the leaves picked up. So I need the snow to melt so I can do that.
Then I'll get ready for the snow. LOL

I think it's the first time in 15 years that I actually shoveled the driveway by hand. Glad it was only a few inches.
