Since NOAA says PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BREAK OUT ACROSS THE AREA LATE TONIGHT. ANYWHERE FROM 3 TO 7 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION BY THE TIME IT ENDS.
I figured it was time to get the gang ready. Just have to get the Sweepster put on the 1650.

Roland - just ordered one of th Tecumseh tachs from M&D for $14. Oddly, they have the exact same tach on ebay for $20. Hmmmmm. Ordered rebuild kits for my Kohler K141 and B&S 17402. I'm thinking in a week or so, I'll be getting in some garage time.

Thanks for the tips, gents. I'm thinking I'll snag one of those neat SW tachs offa ebay as well. I'm curious to see how everything works. I'm like Curious George...I'll probably break everything but it'll be fun and give me an excuse to buy a six pack.

Nate,
I think I would suggest that you only put a nice IH sticker between the headlites of your sweet 782D. That red is WAY TOO pretty to cover with other decals!

Secondly, instead of white, you may also want to consider doing the wheels in the same powdercoated black.... Ohhh, Yeah!!!

Any difference between the headlight bulbs from the dealer and the one GE makes ? If not, does anyone have the part # for the GE's.
Thanks..Joe

Charlie, I think I'll procrastinate this year and wait until there's 6" of snow before I take the mower deck off the #2 125 and put the windbreaker and QA42 on it. Actually I've been so busy with other stuff that I've not had a chance. I do have tomorrow off so I might try to at least get the mower deck off, the oil changed, the QA42 mounted up and the tire chains installed. The windbreaker cab can wait.

Joseph, a GE 4411 lamp would be the correct number.

I took the gear box apart on my 1250. After cleaning all the grease out I was dry fitting the side plate onto the gearbox and noticed that there is really nothing holding that "gasket" on the housing. It just seems like they could have designed something better.

Thomas, do you mean the cover plate on the rear of the differential? If so that is NOT grease in there, it is Hy-Tran hydrostatic transmission fluid.

Charlie... why is the front grille on ur 149 solid? heat, bug gueard for hi speed mowin', er whut?

Glen,
That's the way it was when I bought it last year. He had everything closed up and the hood tilted up inside the cab, so the heat rolled right in.

I removed the cover on the other side and set the hood back down now though. It was to hot for me!

Thomas, or are you referring to the steering gear box?

Charlie, geez, I hope the muffler is outside...!

With a setup like that, you could sit in there with a glass of schnapps in one hand and a cheap cigar in the other. Me, all I got is wool watchcap and some elkhide mittens.

Guys, do you know if anyone ever made a leaf blower for the front of their tractor? looked in archives and found 'leaf'(spring) or blower(snow).I have more leaves than snow in my area, so it could be handy.

Bruce I didn't mess around with a water cooled surplus engine but I did play this

Craig E,
Nope the muffler is inside, all stock setup. No leaks though.
up until last year, I was out in the wind too.

I had even thought about a heater, but I soon found it, it wasn't needed. Even at 10 below, I still leave the back window open!

Yepper,
Here's my walnut flinger! It works great too.

Sweepsters are great for leaves and they also dethatch really well too.
