I dont wont to sound rude and hope y'all dont take this the wrong way but if I want a grammar lesson I would go to www.proper English punctuation dot.com but since I need help with my cub I posted on here I'm a country farm boy from GA. with a job Ive had for 30ys I have 7 chicken houses 400 ac. of land 200 head of Angus cattle 10 quarter horses a wife and a family I'm doing pretty good for myself I think anyway so If you dont like how I post you can kiss my country ... OK. if you would would like to help me with my cub problem or I can help you in any way I will try my best no matter how you write where your from what color you are what you have in life with no predigest sorry if I'm ranting but I dislike arrogant idiots that think there better smarter or have to try to put someone down to make their self feel like their important

David B.-

Kendell and Scott aren't trying to put you down or say they're smarter than you. We are here to help you with your cub problems, but it's difficult for us to do so when we can't understand your post because it's one continuous, unpunctuated sentence. I had to read it 3 or 4 times and I still don't quite understand. If we can't understand the problem, we can't help you either.

Like Kendell said, pictures would really help clear things up if at all possible.

David B., yes you can remove the hood and grill without disconnecting the wiring. I did just that today when I swapped out engines in my #2 125.

Does your 102's engine have a pipe like this one in it?

I also repainted the fuel tank. Even though it was warm for this time of year it was still a bit cool, so I had to warm it up before, during and after painting it. Here's before and after photos.

I think the throttle shaft is catching on my Original's carb, that or there's something wrong with the governor. I really need to get Killer up and running so I have to hold off on working on K4K. For now he's out in the lean-to pouting. He didn't want to face the camera like the other Cubs and the snowmobile. He'll be moved back to the main shed once I'm finished with Killer.

I hope I didn't pay to much for the 169. I should also mention I picked up a 108 this morning. It has the manual lift in the back but I will still need to find the three point hitch. The 108 is not in running condition.
Guy's please let me know if I paid too much for these tractors..........

I paid $50 for the 169 plus gas to pick it up and transport home. I also paid $50 for the 108 but remember it's currently not in running condition.

Reggie, too much? HA! you practically stole them! Way to go!

I put some headlights on the #2 123 that I bought at the begining of summer. Can you tell they have two different bulbs? All Ill need now is the wireing harness,a switch, and some new bulbs!

What do you all supose happened to this hydro where the drive shaft hooks up? This one came with the #2 123.Before I tear into the #1's hydro I thought I would clean this one up and replace its seals also.

Will a ported hydro from a 149 fit a 123? are they all basically interchangeable?

David Google photoscape its a free download.

Reggie; I sure would like to find cubs that cheap here in Tennessee. Very good find. I also have a 169. It and the 147 are the best tractors ever made. IMOP.

Jason:
That looks like maaannnnyyyy hours with a loose coupler, with the end of the drive shaft just wallowing things out.
David: What Matt said.........

Kraig: There's something about that gas tank picture that raises the hair on the back of my neck.. (I've got that same heat gun and have burned way too many things with it

Thanks Guy's. I thought both tractors were a good buy. I used the starter/generator off the 108 to get the 169 going; it works just fine.

Thx Matt!!

Kendell, being a relative lurker, I've had to bite my tongue a lot... after all, filling in for the grump is a full time job...

David B...
The muffler and elbow needed for your cub are available from the sponsors above, and also from your local NAPA... that's where is got my setup on the 149. I think that Chris Westfall's box above may yield a good used setup, too... Hopefully, the pipe coming out of the head will move, mine didn't, so I had to "adapt" the new muffler....

Reggie...If you think you paid too much for that 169, I'll give you $200 for it
drool.gif

I don't generally do wide frames but would make an exception with a 169.

Jason...I run two different lights like that on purpose, I like the way it lights stuff up better.

I am losing my mind. My #26 Carb leaks out weep hole. Rebuild kit installed. Adjusted float numerous times. Put float in sink and it floats so I thinks its good. Put it all back togather and turn gas on, starts leaking from weep hole as soon as bowl fills up. I have taken bowl off and operated float manually and it shuts off fuel flow. If I adjust high idle screw all the way down it stops. I readjust 1 1/2 turns up and it starts again. Having a hard time convincing my wife that my old cub is worth saving much less putting any money into. Please help before she calls the junk man.

Charles:
You've done a lot of the right things so far - except I'm not sure what you mean by "weep hole" (in this context..) - are you talking about the actual fuel feed hole in the venturi of the carb? I hate to suggest a picture, but if that's not what you mean...

Do you have a copy of the Kohler manual? You can get it here in PDF form and save it. Section six shows setting the float - I'm sorry to suggest it, but if the needle is correct (and seals as you have tested), the float level is still too high. I'm sure you've verified that there's no crap in the gas line that could be holding the needle open and that the gasket under the seat is sealing properly..

OBTW - Welcome to the forum and if I may ask a question, do you use the Cub at all in your trade?? (I'm thinking a good dozer blade might be appropriate here)
thumbsup.gif

I believe it is the nozzle air bleed hole. Thanks for the link to manual. It will help a ton. I have pulled it aparty again. Shook the float and heard what sounded like about a drop of water in it. Off to parts store Monday. Already have a dozer blade although I do not know if it is essential for a Funeral Director.

Charles - yeah, if it's dripping water.... I was more referring to the "Cemeterian" aspect (with no disrespect..). If you look around, you'll be amazed at how many jobs the cubs have taken on (street sweeper, orchard spraying , golf carts ...personally, I'd be pleased to have a Cub take part in the final part of my story, although the 129 should go into the grave with me..)

Can anyone give me pics of where\how the front pin bracket on a wide frame rear lift arm attaches?
Also I'm going to have to repair and replace the trunion springs and buttons on my 1450. Do the trunion brackets come off after you remove the snap ring, or are they attached to the shaft?
Thanks for any info, I'm a Newbie at this Cub thing.
