marty, your 128 looks awesome. ive been thinking of doing mine all over to like new, but i kind of like the weathered, used look. at least that way if you get another oil leak, or a scratch it looks right lol

ken: you should see my coverit tent. its a 8x24ft? size. packed full. 2 more future cub projects, my dinosaur simplicity snowblower, a rare craftsman that could blend right in with a group of cubs, my midland, and all my misc implements for the cubs. someday ill get around to cleaning that mess

Been working on my cubs all day. Thanks to one of our sponsors i got the 124 ready to use the cultivator on. I used a spring foot from my horse drawn plow to plow the center so i don't have to straddle the rows. Thanks Aaron.

I see you have a new tooth on there and I need 1 for mine. Are you telling us Aaron sells them? I see another order coming to him. I`am so happy with my Cat O from him that I think everybody should have it.Some nice to back up to the cub Hauler (14 ft bed) and move it around and not get off the seat for nothing lol. Works great, but I`am not alowed to show pictures .

Donald; I got a lower sleeve hitch U bracket and some wedges and brackets from Aaron. Don't think he has the cultivator feet????. The wedges, brackets, and u bracket with ears he makes are great.

BOB P. - John U. is correct. K161's were pretty short lived in CC's. For service engines you could get a "Short Block, Mini-Block, or complete engine. Sounds like your 72's prior owner got a short block or mini-block instead of rebuilding the K161. Back in the '60's & '70's most IH/CC dealers had a complete Kohler engine sitting on the parts counter.

The CC 70 out in my shop was bought new by my Dad in 1965. It mowed our farm yard and a neighbor's farm yard all summer for three years and it was tired. Engine was pulled, rebuilt, lasted three more years. Dad & I rebuilt it and it lasted three more years. The 1/4" longer stroke in the K181 gives them a nice little boost in torque but doesn't seem to make them last much longer.

I don't really know what's in that 70 now, K161 or K181, but it's getting replaced with a K241 so when the tractor is refurbished it'll be decaled as a 100. The K241 I'm rebuilding was a worn out std sized bore engine out of a 104 Dad bought used. I had a local engine rebuilding shop lightly hone the bore, knurl the used piston, put new rings, exh. valve and conn rod in the engine and it ran almost 1500 hours before I replaced it with a K321 a couple yrs ago. The bigger engines just plain last longer because they don't work so hard all the time.

Nice thing about these 40 yr old Cub Cadets, they'll still be running in another 30-40 yrs.

Dennis - "they'll still be running in another 30-40 yrs"
Yeah as long as STENS makes parts.

Wayne: Someone has already tried to fix the problem and did a very bad job of it. I recommend that you get a professial welder to fix it!!

Note in the upper two examples that the lower "tine" is beginning to wear. Also note in the lower one there is no wear and is what yours should look like when finished.

JeffB: Apparently the ones like Waynes are for the Narrow Frames although the upper one in the photo has a WF muledrive subframe mounting bracket.
