Evan, WAY cool tractor! Any chance of loading some video of that machine makin a pass?

Don't think we have a good video yet, probably not smart enough to load it anyway. Busy working on another turbo, have two pulls this weekend, not sure if I'll get it together or not. Have to make different pipes, ect. to change it over. Making one turbo out of three, learning a lot the hard way.

Anybody Pulling with a Case or Ingersoll 3 cyl Perkins? 3118D ?

Is anybody Pulling with Case Hydro 155 195 ? I got beat in my first pull ever by one 10 hp . The tractor DQ'd for weight and I have never seen tractor or driver again. It did look impressive with a full pull. But rules are rules.

Got the little 1000 tuned and ready to pull Thursday night a running dirt pull. But the biggest excitement is my youngest daughter (23 yrs old.) and tomboy wants to try pulling. Ol Pops couldn't be any happier.

Let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!!

Story to follow.

Evan, VERY nice piece of pulling equiptment. I love it. lots of hard work and time went into this tractor and it shows. good luck pulling it

Are any of you pullers out there running a #30 carb on a K-241 10hp Kohler engine? Any advantages or disadvantages over using a #26 carb? Thanks for any info.

Kirk: I had troubles getting the 30 set right and it might have been the carb itself, I have much better luck putting a 1 inch spacer between carb and motor with the #26. Also I am running Marathon 93 octane and fuel booster just a little carb tuning and my little 1000 is very very strong! My 2 cents worth.

I would read the themes that David Kirk wrote on this site and it will give you more insight into this 26 and 30 carb. Building a Killer 301 part one and two . Very informative data.

Kirk--- You can sometimes lose bottom end torque with the #30 carb on a 10hp. The best way is to try both and see the actual difference. You won't have any trouble selling the #30 if it does not pan out.

Dennis I agree. David Kirk article is a "must" read". Did a lot of the little things myself and could not believe the difference that they made.

1st running pull tonight good Lord I can not wait!!

Ben good luck at the pull tonight. We are also pulling tonight, we will have 5 different garden tractors there.... Yes that maybe a few too many. We will be pulling a 122 with a 16hp(Midnight Express), a 122 with a 12hp, a 1000 with a 16hp, a 72 with a 12hp, and a 100 with a 12hp. Here's a couple pics of a pull a few weeks ago.
Myself on my 122

My son's Midnight Express, hmmmm, seems to be a problem. As he hooked up to the sled the tractor spit, sputtered, and died, then it would not start. Yeah, that was some nice smoke and fumes that I got to breathe... So we pushed him out of the way and he dropped to the last puller of the class. After pushing it around back, it started right up!

Here he is pulling, taking 2nd place!

Here is my dad on the 100 with a 12hp and 122 seat & fenders.

Here is my nephew Tim pulling his 1000 with a 16hp

Thanks Vincent great pictures and a better looking time!!!!

What a blast Thursday night my daughter Andrea (23 yrs old)was so excited. 1st time in my life the little 1000 was put in a 10 to 14 hp class (always ran 10hp only) So I too was excited about getting a chance to run with the bigger ones also.

Told the pulling officals this was her first pull so they let dad help her get started and did she do great. Out of 26 tractors and 42 drivers she came in 7th and won some nice prize money. And now is she ever hooked!!! LOL

Well after her pull I got in line and as I took off with the sled I thought oh oh something is not right. Seems the governor body got hooked on my braided gas line and all I could run on was throttle only. That little motor ran until it just couldn't go anymore espcially with the governor not opening up still got me a 10th place finish tho.

The family fun is so wonderful my pulling buddies treat my wife (who is in a wheelchair) and my daughter like queens. Everybody helping one another of course they had to raz dad about getting beat by a beginer and I am still laughing but better yet is the big ol smile I have been carring on my face for a couple days now.

Oh 12 hours after pulling the dirt tires came off and I was mowing again with my 1000. Plus one of my buddies wanted to borrow my Super lugs for Sunday. Rats I got to work.

Hello, I'm building a pure stock 12hp cub 124. Questions are can I keep the creeper on with out hurting it and can I use stock clutch spring and disc? I'm rebuilding the clutch and now would be the time to update if nessary.

Vince-
Congrats on the good pulling. What is the story behind the rear rims on that black 122?

They look neat...

Guys,
Thank you for the nice words. Our season ended a bit rough though. On August 7th my son broke the left rear axle on the Black 122 Puller, then 2 days later he broke the stock carrier and axle on my 122. And my nephew bent the 3 prong clutch driver on his 1000 that same day.

Art, those are some custom made rims that came with a pair of 26x12x12 Firestones that I bought. These are 11" wide, they were 98% rust color when we got them...

The Black part is bolted to the rims with approx 25 5/16-18x1 Stainless Hex Cap Screws and Std 5/16-18 Nylon lock nuts. I have another close up pic that I will post(it is not with me at work).

Ben,
I would recommend taking off the creeper, it is a weak link between the motor and transmission. They are expensive, if you have no plans to ever use it then possibly sell it and use the funds to buy some other Cub related or pulling items.

For the clutch, I use the standard Clutch Disk on all my Standard Stock 12hp pullers.
Here is what I do on my Cubs.
1. Clean/re-surface both clutch plates to true them up for the best contact.
2. Install an extra 10ga 5/8" Nachine Bushing behind the standard clutch spring to tighten/strengthen it.
3. Make sure the Teaser spring, Spirol pins, and Clutch bearing are in good working condition.

Vince-
Look at the postive side of all of your breakage woes.. At least you're hooking up to the track pretty well!
