A thought or two on tim arthurs' blow by issue.
"not alot, but its enough to blow a little oil out if the dipsticks out."
The Kohler's have a flapper valve in the breather that allows the crankcase air to be pushed out when the piston goes down, but does not allow outside air to be sucked in when the piston goes up.
When you pull the dipstick out, it allows air to be sucked in on the down stroke and blown out on the upstroke.
It's normal for even good engines to puff air out the dipstick hole.
The dipstick hole needs to be plugged in order for all this to work right.
This is not such a big deal on multi-cylinder engines but a killer on single cylinder engines.
So,
1. Don't expect this to get better.
2. If you don't blow the dipstick out of the engine, that's good.
3. If your oil consumption is OK, that's good.
Hope the lawn mowing goes well!
