Calvin, the "205" is the IH "Kind Code" for a Cub Cadet. The "0660" is the IH "Machine Code" for a model 1450. The "U" means it's Made In the "U"SA. The numbers after the U are the actual S/N.

Calvin, if you put your model # into the parts lookup above, them it will return you model. in your case insert 2050660U.
as for the numbers, I think Myron Bounds had a reference sheet refgarding what it means. the 660 is the model designation for a 1450.

Please share your 129 'adventures' in splitting it in half while replacing the pump gasket with ample text and pictures.

My 129 is also dripping excessively. I'd like to follow your project to capture your experienced pointers/advice along the way before I tackle mine.

Hey Fellas,
My 127 was mowing along just fine on smooth/clean grass, when all of a sudden the engine started to make all kinds of noise!

A quick inspection indicated that the screen flywheel cover was jumping around and no longer centered in the tin shrouding, so it was rubbing like crazy making the racket?!
Anyone have or hear of this happening or have any ideas what or why it happened?

RYAN - I had a 129 until about 4 yrs ago. It leaked so bad I had to put a sheet cake pan under it. Richard C. experimented with neoprene gaskets several yrs ago with GREAT success, but sinmple Buna N or Nitrile rubber sheet(different names for the same material) would work well also. Use a new cork gasket as a pattern, there may be a diagram here someplace.

Clean the rearend of accumulated grease/dirt/oil before removing the hydro unit. Clean sealing surfaces carefully. With a WF leave the rearend installed, just remove center cover & fenders, plenty of room to work. There's posts here in the last page or so about what works for cleaning hydros/engines.

The whole hydro linkage will have to be adjusted, good time for trunnion repair if needed also. Refill with Hytran & install new filter.

The whole hydro pump/motor is only held to the rearend with four capscrews, not hard to R&R. Just make sure you loosen the correct four! Clean hydro helps! The rag joints unbolt, least mine did.
