Has anybody here ever found a source for a 1/2" wide pin with a ROUNDED head similar to this one?

I recently took this cub cadet in on a trade and I dont know alot about them. I am trying to figure out what year,what size engine etc..I was cheking out faq and from what I can figure out from the serial # this would have been manufactured in 1964. The numbers after the u in the serial # are 077552, the model # is 134 282 100. On the side of the hood it says 282 hydro. any help would be greatly appreciated,tried to upload pics but says mine are too large

I can't remember where I read this but while looking at information on wall nuts I ran across an article on using ground up wall nut shells for a blasting medium in lieu of sand, It stated that the ground up shells worked as well as sand at removing paint but was not as aggressive in removing medal. I can not try this (none of the equipment) but I'm putting it out there as what could be a very good method for parts blasting.

That's a 282 lawn tractor, not a garden tractor, and is most likely built in the early 80's.

Thanks Matt, but what about the serial #077552 according to the chart I saw that would make this a 1964, but I cant find this model #134 282 100. Can anyone please set me straight!

Dean W, Matt G: The 134 282 100 is an MTD style model designator used by CCC The 134 tells you it was made in 1984, the 282 is the Lawn Tractor model, and that the 100 tells it is a Yellow/White version sold by a CCC dealer. Dean W: like Matt said, It is NOT a Cub Cadet Garden Tractor , it is a Cadet tractor-style lawn mower. I have a 124 that I am repairing the brakes on. I would like to know if the brakes pads are wet or dry and the disassembly process after removel of the front transmission cover.
