You ain't no fun if we can't pick on your sorry butt!
We'll have to go back to jumpin on Art all the time without you to pick on.

Dave Ross: Thanks for the reply. I thought that since the 105 has the "quick hitch" set up, and my 71 has the bolted on implements, there would be some modifications that would need to be made. I hope it's as easy as changing out the mule drives.

LOL well that was fun. I even got a smutty email from Charlie,it was a little hard to read with all the grammar he used.

I think we are all here for the same thing tractors (cubs). I read this about every hr and hate to see no posting.Sunday I`am usually bored to death with no tractor time for me, I look out side and see all that I have to do this spring with rakeing the drive back and limbs down and leaves that came from somewhere,I want to get at it and get-er-done. Spelling was invented so we could communicate with each other and be understood , some are better at getting there point understood.
I will post some pictures of my O refurbish just as soon as the weather will let me do some more glass blasting.youall have a great day .

I will have to go over this deck and get it ready for spring.some pointers on these would be nice. Can i install wheels at the four corners like the bigger decks I see. I don`t want it taking out pieces of the lawn when I use it and was thinking wheels would, might be the answer? Thanks Guys

MIKE M. - While I agree with Charlie, I sure don't understand why someone would run ANY frt tires on a CC without inner tubes.

Yes, the tires may stay inflated without tubes, but that depends on what kind of shape your wheels are in, paint, rust, dirt, etc all effects the ability of them to hold air, plus the valve stem and how it seals against the rim. And without the old tires and valve stem removed you can't inspect where it really makes a difference. The tire bead area where the tire mounting surface contacts the inside rim bead area is what's important. Also the half inch around the valve stem hole, both inside & outside the rim.

Inner tubes in these very low speed tires do not cause the problems tube-type tires did in cars & light trucks 40-50 yrs ago. I REALLY can't understand people's resistance to running tubes, especially in a tube-type tire.

DON - Without checking I'm sure Charlie has the gauge wheel kit for those decks available. MTD made a kit. The runners have to be ground off, new brackets welded on, and the spherical wheels & shoulder bolts installed.

Also, while your working on that deck, check real close for cracks where the rear gauge wheel brackets weld on to the deck skin. Those 44 & 50 in decks either have cracks around those brackets or they have welds!

Charlie, did you look at the instruction sheet? It doesn't say anything about mounting wheels before putting the deck back on !
