I would check the PTO on the front of the engine, the drive shaft and also where the drive shaft connects to the engine first.
If you rule all those out, take a long screw driver and stick on the engine in different spots and listen for an internal knocks.

I just checked the link I posted this morning. What happened? It was a simple cut and paste. I did find the answers in the Vault though... should have checked first. Wound up knocking a lot of crud out of the started generator with some CRC contact cleaner. It did a good job. My best go to electric shop wanted $80.00 to clean it up, but a little short on cash. Keep up the good work.

Todd M., it was IH paint from the dealer. The epoxy primer wasn't affected though. Nick

Hey guys new to the forum, looking to pick up a cub and looking for advice on what models to look for. I used to run a 128 but I'm thinking about going with a Hydro. Basically I want a cub with the most oppurtunties for expansion, sleeve hitch hydro lift and possibly to add a homebuilt front loader at some point. For now I need something for mowing plowing and maybe a snow blower. Thanks for the help.

My 70 has a rectangle mow deck with the wide flat belt... I thought only originals had this 2 blade deck???

Ok, so the next question is, what was the reason to make the tractor backwards compatiable with the older model deck? Being flexible, customer demand or just more options?

Brian B...Somewhere around here in the library, I recall seeing an IH notice that the deck retrofits were to exhaust the huge inventory of the Original style timed decks that IH had in their warehouses....Of course, IH also had an optional kit to adapt the Model 70/100 style three-blade 38" deck to the Original Tractors.
