Yes, Denny, my 23x10.50 Firestones are Awesome! I smile every time I look at them. I got a pair of V61 fronts over a year ago, how 'bout tire mount session & I'll bring a Flotation 23 for your inspection...?

I'm sure it will work, especially since some have them on them from the dealers.
But personally I don't use them. When I find one on a Cub, I pitch it! LOL

Hey guys & gals -

This morning Denny mentioned our friend Gerry Ide in one of his posts. Many/most of you will recall he was a regular contributor of much knowledge about Cub Cadets, and many other things. Last September he lost his bride to cancer. I emailed him after the holidays just to let him know I was thinking about him. He replied to let me know he's still around, but after losing his best friend of 41 years, was struggling some to find much interest in anything. However, he did say that if it comes up, I should tell everyone "Hi" for him. Thanks to Denny, it came up, so "Hello everyone, from Gerry."

Please keep Gerry in your thoughts. We're missing out on a lot of valuable input from him while he's absent. Gerry, if you're checking in from time to time, I hope everything is getting a little better for you, and look forward to seeing you back here one of these days.

Back on topic, I received a nice set of side panels for my 1450 today from Tom Hoffman. Thanks again, Tom. Now the 1450 won't be half naked while pushing snow.

Those are 23 x 8.5 x 12 tru powers I had installed today. They are 7" inside the bead. I measured across the rim. I will not be adding any liquid for weight ,but will install a set of IH weights on the inside of the rim. since the 125 does not have rooters I can do this. I have all new turf tires on my 147 and found on wet grass I have a traction problem. The tru powers on my 1512 that I bought for my 149 are great for traction because I think they are a soft compound rubber.

On a side not I went to D M V today to re-register my 14' trailer. Last year the weight I had for the trailer and cargo was 1600 kg x 2.205= 3528 lbs,The trailer was build from 4" channel iron and has two 3500 lb axles and is heavy. I has 2" x 6" planks 14" long with 2" Channel 18" on center cross suports. Well to make this a short story , last summer I added electric brakes to the front axle because with two cubs I was over the registered weigh. The next weight bracket is 3200 kg or 7056 lbs at a price of $110.56 , last year was $47.00 . I found out that the fine for over weight was $400.00 plus and not worth the chance for me. life is getting scary $$$$$

PAUL R. - I did a little more "shopping" on the 'Net after my post yesterday and I guess I could go with a set of white steel wheels and 15-6.00X6 V61's. I just put new frt wheel bearings in the CC 70 late last summer so I think I'd keep the 8" wheels on it but I might try those tires/wheels on the 72. It'd be very "stock looking" and might work really well. Plus give me something to do while I inspect your 23-10.50 'Stones.

GREG - I really miss Gerry's frequent comments here. I truly hope he feels able to post more eventually. Loosing a mate of 41 years really hurts. And GERRY, if you see this, We're all wishing you the best in your time of sorrow.

Glad you found a supplier for the V61`s .I have them on my diesel and I really like them ,they seem to clear themselves good and have a soft ride. Just found a new

And Gerry , all the best from over here , your wisdom is missed for sure. I hope you can come back and post like before.

Hey Charlie,

I don't mean to be a bother, but I sent you an email a few days ago about a post you made with a picture of a narrow frame with a bagger on it. see the post here:
https://www.ihcubcadet.com/forum/messages/106/195584.html

What model did it come from and how well does it work? I really need a 3 container set-up for my 782 and 44c.

I'm not sure if you didn't get it or ended up in the spam. I know your a busy guy and thanks for all your hard work.

If anybody else has any info on this, please chime in. Spring's a-comin'!

BTW... great news about the Firestone 26x12x12 by M.E. Millers if its ture.

NIC B. - Ed Miller himself said the 26-12.00's will be available "this summer". The rubber will be harder than the Firestone produced tires to make them last longer for garden tractor pullers.

Nic B.
I posted all the info in my original post, but I took Gator blades and later on high lift blades and cut them to fit the 38" deck. Made the baffles a little taller and reshaped them a bit to decrease the air restriction.
The bagger itself is just an old crapsman from a garage sale that was $3.00, LOL
I only used it to pick up leaves, which it did quite well I might add.
It just depends on how much time you want to put into the project.
But IMHO, you would be better off just finding a Peco, Trac-Vac or Agri-Fab pull behind vacuum and leave the deck alone.
I know my Peco will pull the grass, roots and all if the ground it a little wet, LOL
