I "Think" my 149 lift handle may NOT be "Bent" after all,

I found what looks like PO has possibly done,

Narrow frame hydraulic lift handle.

Harry,
I don't have any sterling silver sitting around but I do have some 1/8 inch flat stock, planned on something like Jeff posted. I also have some old bed frames that I might try to use, but it is just so hard to work with.
I'll leave that up to my son, he my metal guy.

My welding is like my dry walling. Put too much on, take too much off, put too much on, repeat....

Jason - naw, the narrow frame hydraulic lift handle has a couple flats and holes. It'd be dang hard to make that work on your 149.

Bill - sure looks to me like Jeff used some nice Sterling for his pickle fork. When you do yours I think you'll find that 1/8" flat stock isn't thick enough. I think it's probably 3/16". Also, have a good look at the rod holding your lift arms. It's usually "well worn" maybe as much as half way thru. You'll certainly want to weld it up and make it nice and round again. And finally, you may think you want a "nice tight fit" where the pickle fork slips over the rod - but I'd give yourself a little more room than you think. You'll be glad you did when you go to install the sub-frame and discover it doesn't slide on as easy as it used to (BTDT). It's pretty hard to get any leverage to push the pickle fork on when you're down on your knees installing the sub-frame.

Marty - naw I ain't needin' any of that 128 stuff. I was thinking you might need some 168 decals for the sides of the dash, once you find a K341A to drop in there along with clutch and driveshaft - and most importantly a seat. No seat = no seat time

Bill, it was close! Then I asked our next door neighbor if he'd sell back the 1811 I sold him last summer. He has a zero turn and an Ingersoll that he lucked into after buying the 1811, so he sold it back.

This is the 1811 that has a cab in Nova Scotia and a snowblower on Prince Edward Island. During 8 hours of rough mowing I decided that a new machine would never stand up to the punishment this 27 year old will take.

Yes, Harry, neighbor "decaled" it. Even without the decoration I can tell the difference between the 1811 and the 682.

Frank,
I do like my LTX1046VT But it is way far from bulletproof I work on as much as the IH built Cub that are 30 or more years older.

Harry,

Thank you I printed your post for my son. I would have made it a nice tight fit. I did plan on grinding than filing then some emery cloth on the shaft, try to make it nice and smooth, as not to wear on the fork.

Any Thoughts, Comments, or Suggestions on the cracking around my 149 hydro filter "BUNG" would be much Appreciated!

The "IH 395 789 R2" Filter didn't seem overly tight, I removed it by hand, I have the Fleet Guard HF6096 to install when and or if I decide anything should be done about Cracking around bung,,,,

Thanks,

Jason - what are we looking for? Are you referring to the white areas? I don't see any cracks.. that "bung" is a pipe nipple, screwed into the body of the casting, which is pretty thick. Unless you think the "cracks" run all the way through the casting, I'd spin a new filter on and forget about it. The filter seal is around the outside of the filter, not around the nipple..
