The Cub Funds are running low, Dear.

Frank,
Not sure what you mean by "Or this", but that is not the correct schematic for a 71. Works for a 70, but not a 71

SO, does the Brinly adapter replace the 3 point hitch or do you need both?
Thanks
Christopher

Christopher, the Brinly Sleeve Hitch Adapter attaches to the IH three point so you need both. I did have my post regarding the Brinly Sleeve Hitch Adapter worded to mention that little bit of info then I edited it and messed it up.

Christopher: It will be worth it later on.
Paul: You opened the door to an observation: Even a wrong answer can soon elicit (33cent word) a right one.
I think a too short PTO drive belt caused this pin on deck drive pulley to try to say "bye-bye"

Terry:
I know that the NF space is tighter, but here's the spring assist I built a few years ago for my WF 129... I thought I'd post the pics for some ideas. The long link is just all thread with the end bent 90 degrees to go into the lift bellcrank and then a cross hole drilled in it for a hairpin. The spring is from a standard fence tensioner I bought at TSC. The outer tube is exhaust pipe with a washer closing the end, spring seats against that. The tube inside was EMT, welded to a washer, the adjusting nuts seat against that. I can tighten it enough to float my QA42A (which is counterproductive for actually throwing snow..). When I mowed with the 48" deck, I usually had it set pretty loose..

Kraig McConaughey and Frank Currier: thanks a million for the help with the wiring harness/voltage regulator. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Well, for the past 4 days I have been working on my 71 restoration & 125 with the sickle mower.

When the restoration is complete, I will have removed every nut & bolt except for the axles and the internal trans parts. Yesterday I removed all the plates off the dif./trans. inspected and cleaned internally and blasted the plates. It wasn't quite as nasty as the one Digger showed us a few days ago but it was dirty. Anyway, I had to cut some pipe and have it welded (I don't have a welder)(sad isn't it)for the sickle mower hanger bracket. Temporarily mounted a hitch to my 125 to pull my trailer. Then I started disassembly of the 38" deck. A few spots are rusted thru and the metal is pretty thin from rust in some key areas. Whats the best way to repair this? Any pics from your deck projects? I'll try to post some pics tonight but getting sleepy!

Bob

Bob-

I would recommend you pull the axles and replace the axle seals and axle tube gaskets...a lot of crap gets trapped in the axle tubes, and Murphy's law states that an axle seal will develop a leak all over your shiny new paint if you don't do anything.
