JJ MILLS - re CC 86 taking a gallon of Hy-Tran instead of 3-1/2 quarts. That really isn't that much difference. As long as it was up to the plug on the rear cover it should be fine.

Since it was brought up I'll throw in another trunion repair. I now just get 1/4" square stock and make the notched piece I have pictured. It works great. By notching the width is automatically determined rendering the proper length of the slot. It also puts metal down in the slot where it was to begin with. I also fabricated a gauging tool for the proper width when setting up or "jigging". All of this makes this repair a lot easier for me. This repair is for the 1250 I just split.

I did paint the trunion arm since I had it out of the pump.

Frank-

You might want to consider getting a small scraper and cleaning the paint off of that pump. It's a good job for the shade tree with the air (blowgun) by your side. It won't take that long. I've done it to correct what POs have done in a couple of cases and I think it really does make a difference. These pumps get awful hot.
That hat is the same color of what cows eat and you know what the end product is there.

Would removeing the front PTO cause a 12hp Kolher to run as if it is out of time?
The motor now does not seam to reach full rpm's and seems under powered.

LONNIE - Those fenders actaully look really good on a 100.

A missing PTO clutch shouldn't effect how a K301 runs, in fact, with less rotating weight it should accelerate and seem to pull better, less drag from the friction button not rubbing.

If you just installed the engine from another Cub into this tractor it could be that a throttle cable adjustment is required, or a wiring issue, like the coil wired backwards.
 
I would like to reinforce the frame on the loader. It has always had a little twist or sag on the right side and I plan on straighting it and adding supports. I was thinking of adding braces between the bottom of the axle, opposite of where the frame bolts, to a point in the frame roughly where the back of bolts. By the way it's a narrow front 147.

Has anyone done something like this? If so pictures?
