HELP!
Attempting to remove the clutch bearing on a kolher 12hp.
How far does the locking collar turn ?

Well found my manual. says to lock collar in same dirction motor turns.
Does not say how far it turns.

Wonder why whover installed this one locked it on the wrong direction.

Punched it clock wise while sitting looking at from front of tractor, only moved 1/4 inch, punched it counter clockwise it moved back to start point, repeat directions and it came loose in direction manual says to lock it.

Anyhow I got that one off.

Digger, if you have one in stock and my CC numbers still, could you send one this way?

Lonny, mabey the reason they locked it in the wrong direction is it makes sense. Give me a bit I'll see if I can find that discussion.

Paul, That's one Bitchin' Original!! I like the rods going from the grill to the firewall, give it that 30's Hot Rod look. Will you be in Penfield on Saturday?? Would like to meet up with you, it's been awhile.

DAVE - Your on the right track there. One of the manuals had the PTO pilot bearing lov=cking collar turning the wrong way to lock.

To be honest, as long as you tighten the set screw securely, I don't think it makes ANY difference. I've NEVER had a PTO pilot bearing come loose.

Paul B,
That is a nice looking line up you have there. Tim P.

Tom,
I hope to be there before noon tomorrow, and will leave Sunday morning. Also plan to be at the Half Century of Progress show in Rantoul Aug 25-28, provided it's not 110 in the shade........but then there's not much shade on an airport

Dennis, I've only had one come loose, it isn't usually a problem.
Lonny, either my computer is loopy or the valt is, either way. I think the discussion is on 9-12-09.

That is one sweet tractor Michael.... I seen that For Sale add you had posted....

Wish I could have rounded up the $$$ for it to scoop it up. Those rear ags look GREAT on it. You have any more pictures of it share? Wouldn't mind some idea's if you don't mind for the 782 I picked up a couple months ago. I see in your profile you have 2 982's....

anybody know why the 86 took a gallon of hy-tran when the dealer and book calls for 7 pints thanks and here is my red one

Okay I am getting the urge (fever) to find a red one. I just vacated a spot in my shed that was neither a yellow and white nor a red one. Need I say more. ps JJ I am stumped but would possibly be inclined to err on the side of only putting in 7 pints. Some of the other fellows probably have a better explanation. Generally speaking overfilling might tend to lead to pressure issues and leakage I believe. Tim P.

I got this email from a friend and sometime visiter here. I'm posting it here for all to see what caliber of people the Cub Cadet Community has. Name has been withheald.....but I know who it is and I'm pround to have him as a friend!!!

"Right now I am helping a 17 year old kid restore a 123 Cub Cadet. The kid asked me if he could help me mow lawns for my lawn mowing business, and then he started attending tractor shows with me. After driving some of my Cub Cadets, he decided that he liked the model 123 the best. As it turned out, I had a 123 someone gave me in my junk yard that I was going to use for parts. I decided to give the kid the 123 so he could restore it. A couple of nights ago we got it running, and surprisingly, it ran very well with no smoke, so we decided to paint it. For the last few days we have been taking parts off from it in preparation to paint it. Next, will be the fun job of sandblasting. If I can keep the kid focused, I am hoping to have it done in time for the XXXXXXXX XXXXX Show. The kid has a hard time with school, and doesn't really fit in. I am hoping to pass the Cub Cadet hobby along to see if it adds as much to his life as it has added to mine."

Isn't that GREAT! Good job my friend.

Tom - That's an outstanding story. You must be proud to call him a friend. I'm guessing he's making an immeasurably positive impact on the kid's life. Thanks for sharing.

Tom - Glad to see finished pics again of M.K. I was looking at the raw pics a couple days ago when I was going through my Cub folder. BTW I'll take all the high res pics ya got of her if you want to send them...

Now with the 17 year old - Not knowing "why" he doesn't seem to fit in leaves a big hole in this theory but maybe giving the young feller something to occupy his mind and his hands and maybe relive some of his mental stress may help him in school.

Cubs , fishing , model building , drawing anything that someone can get into to take their mind off of stressful day to day things can work wonders for the health and mental health of anyone and make them more at ease around people.

I'm glad he was given a 123 ... not a 125

Ken, you are so right.

What a great story Tom!

To keep it on topic, I think I will go cut the grass with the 1250.
