David, that 126 looks fantastic! No parades for me, other work to do this weekend.

I got to get 1450 back this week and play nice with the 782 carb.
Jason, I'm so happy you got your 149 going again, I love pics and trials and tribulations stories, makes me feel I'm not alone in that.

David S. Sorry about only having seven drivers. We told your grand daughter of the Tama/Toledo area speed traps. She already knew about the ones in Cedar Rapids.

To ALL.... Fantastic pictures!!!! Thank You for sharing them.

Be SAFE and have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the good words Folks!
WE had a great time and even coaxed a JD owner to drive one in the parade.
Marlin...I gave the A-frame to my oldest Son last nite for his BD.
now when he finds a Cat 0 for his super, he can pull one of my plows.
Here's looking forward to the next big IH doings in this area, next month @ Antique Acres in Cedar Falls, IA...the Chapter 5 summer show for IH Collectors, kind of a chapter mini RPRU.

Just curious on peoples opinion. Would you rather have a 982 or a 782D? Pros and cons?

782D IN a 982 (with power steering).......now we're talking! !!!!

Steve B. & Steven B.

Hey ummm, I've got like 3 square inches of red total on my 149. About 1sq inch on front grill, 1sq inch on steering wheel, & same on rear fender pan. Don't get me wrong here, I ABSOLUTELY Love yellow & white, BUT!!!!

OMG!!!!

306245.jpg

REALLY!!!

I almost feel ashamed posting this as my 149 is Looking right at me with no headlights, covered in clippings, and greasy Hy-Tran fingerprints all over it from the recent Rear/Hydro swap!

So how does this Yellow & White Fever thing go?
Is it Yellow & White Then Red, or Yellow & White "&" Red, or is it JUST Plain RED!!!

Man you guys got some GOOD LOOKIN Tractors!

I finally got to doing the head swap on the 1650. The old head was cracked a lot more than even I thought. I attached a couple pictures. The do not show the crack as well as I wanted but it goes from the spark plug hole to the white line that I marked on it.

About two years ago, I got my model 86 with IH 38" three spindle mower deck. I have started to take the garden tractor apart, and store it away inside my garage. Better than outside for sure! I noticed that the i.d tag was still riveted to the rear of the trans axle. I thought the wide frame series i.d tags were all on the left side of the tractor frame? The model 86 i.d tag I have is 2050042U488777 .

On another note, my 125 is making progress! Still, lots to clean up. Got the IH push/pull light switch with inline fuse today, and the near-perfect Nelson muffler sandblasted/cleaned up as well...ready for paint! I'm still in need of the safety switch lever, and the little copper washer to go in front of the air filter housing wing nut! The front axle and rock shaft assembly are still a greasy mess too!

Jason W, Agreed, those are some nice tractors! I think there is a IH 782 that has the fine spline rear axles in the cast iron IH trans axle housing,...(that's very cool too!)

According to Tractordata Your 86 ID Tag is Correct, being a Pre-1974

Hydro/Relief Check Valve ?

Ok, I'm wondering if it's common to have manual unloading relief valve with Ball "Stuck" in the Bottom of the lower section of Valve Housing?

306290.jpg

Thus Allowing the Relief/Button on top to still Function Properly, Button/Relief on top can be pressed down and spring back up on its own with Tractor Running and/or Not Running?

I Know with tractor running Hydro Pressure "Should" force BALL Upward in the Lower Section of Valve but if ball was "STUCK" in the VERY bottom of valve the Relief "ON TOP" would Still function Normally, Correct?

I Think my Sluggish/ Eventually NO Reverse after Hydro Swap Proved This very Scenario!!!

Both Reliefs according to Buttons working Properly after Hyrdo swap, Swapped relief valves around then no Forward only Reverse, Both reliefs working Properly According to Buttons!

Pulled both valves, Got to looking closely and one Had Ball Stuck in Bottom of Lower Section,,,

So Kroil, Kroil, Kroil,, Tap Tap Tap,, Kroil Kroil Tap Tap Kroil Tap, Kroil tap and Voilà, Ball Freed up put back in Tractor then Had Forward and Reverse!!!!

Hmmm,
1a_scratchhead.gif

Just wondering if Ball Stuck in Very Bottom of Valve isn't Common Maybe Tractor being Drug DOWNHILL Backwards While Not Running as Matt G suggested may have created "Vaccum" instead of pressure in turn causing BALL to STICK in Bottom of Lower Section of Valve POSSIBLY???

And What REALLY has me Scratching my Head is That if this possible scenario could have been the case w/ Both Valves After Rearend Swap which would have meant That I didn't even Really Need the 1250 Hydro Pump just my 149 Pump Could have just had both Balls Stuck in Bottom causing the No Forward or Reverse!!!! Possibly????
