Darn - I was hoping I had finally found the perfect benchtop engine stand! And Harry, all I can say is that I'm trying my best (within my $) so we'll see how they turn out. Since I started with the 127 I'm hoping that by the time I get to the others my blunders will fewer. Aside from all the pins and stuck stuff it seems as though tearing them apart was pretty straight forward (sorta) but it's the re-assembly that gives me insomnia. Anyway, appreciate all the encouragement from everyone.

Don T: Are you sleeping with that load tonight?

Jonathan: Don't think of it as a big chunk of money - think of it as little chunks over a period of time.

Frank A. Currier(Northern Maine)

I did get the angle gear box for a snow blower and 3 of the drive shafts for them (extras). Tomorrow I need to empty my 14' cargo trailer and the truck and head back for two more snow blades. One is a v blade that fits over a standard blade. One Cub is in pieces that I took the creeper off of in December . rims and tires and more , coils and extra carbs (4). I will take better pictures of the cubs when I get them out of the trailer. They are in great shape even thou they arn`t all painted the correct colour lol.Mower deck spindles , I now can repair two deck I have,One mower deck was refubershed and looks new. All kinds of tin for the K engines.Three of the tractors are std and one hydro . I did make a great haul.

Terry D - I think you might be surprised at how straight forward the 127 goes back together with everything cleaned up, freshend up, and painted. I would make sure you are using all new CC roll pins, what I used to call double roll pins, now more commonly called spirol pins. You don't want any problems with pins. And I'm certain you kept all the original IH stamped head hardware, and brightened it up, either cad plated it, or painted, so that stuff will all go back nice and smooth. (I never had any replated cause of the expense and small amount I had but in your area there are probably places you could get it done reasonably. I do have a secret paint I always used that worked great. I can't disclose on here what it is but you can e-mail me.) And you've got the 147 to use as the primary "go by" so you should realy not have any problems. When ya startin?

Don T - I ain't a motorcicle guy and never heard of a Nomad MC. Sounds like some kinda bike with a front seat you flip to get to the back seat so you can sleep or do something else.
Now, your message at 4:24pm says you -
Just got home with half the Cubs... and tomorrow you go back to get some decks, blades and parts -
When are you getting the other half of the Cubs? Hey, you got a QA36/42/A thrower don't look bad, but you laid a ramp on the chute rotater mechanism. Better carefully remove that ramp before you go breakin the rotater off - dang it.
And then, you gotta do something about that attempt to make a CC into an Massey-Ferg using faded red and flat silver. At least it looks like they didn't paint the engine - geez.
Other than that I think you salvaged some pretty decent stuff.

Jonathan S - you know, I like your thinking. Let those other guys put all that money into those big time pullers and stuff. I'd rather have a little money to use for my regular Cubs, and maybe even be able to get more of em.

Frank...Your right, alot of little chunks over a long period of time. lol It would be nice dont get me wrong, but for now I'd rather have a couple cubs to put small chunks in vrs just 1. lol You can always find somthing to to in the garage when you have a few sittin around.

HydroHarry...If I did ever get a chance to build a puller the way I would want to,it wouldnt be practical to do anything else with it except maybe a few laps around the block once in a while. lol But there are some sharp lookin pullers out there.

Keith O - it's nearly mid-nite here on the left coast. Are you awake and up to date on these posting? How bout Chris R's "O" there. That's a sweet looking machine.

Harry It's 5:00 here I've been sleeping in last couple days. Got the grandchild this week. I'm going to start disassembly on the 1650 this weekend. Hope I don't loose any parts. I can't find any 3/8 16 center lock nuts in any of the hardware stores around here. But I'm not paying 2.50 a piece for them plus shipping, so I'm still looking.

Keith,

I want to sleep in, but some vampire wants blood from me at 5:00 a.m every morning this week.

A 3/8-16 center lock nut is pretty common If I recall correctly, a center lock is an oblong end. There is also a 3/8-16 with a nylon (it looks like plastic) lining that may also work, depending on its use.

If your hardware store can't figure out this one for you, you need a new hardware store.

On my 1250 Nightmare, I bought a lot of nuts and bolts from the local Caterpillar dealer. It is good quality stuff. Price is up there, but IMHO worth it. You could also try FastenAll, your CaseIH dealer or Cub Cadet dealer.

They won't be hard to find and you can get ice cream for the little one, too.

The nuts are for the engine mounts and I think I read on here that the nylock nuts are too tall and don't really work well. I guess I'll try the Case IH store or maybe the Napa store.

Chris R, I am just catching up on the reading here and wanted to comment on the little cutie on her PINK Cubby. She is shining and so proud of the cubby her daddy did up just for HER. Great job and I know she will cherish it for a lifetime. also, I was really impressed with the original you refurbed in the red and white color scheme. It is a great looking tractor. Of COURSE you aren't going to sell it. I'm sure its not so much about the too much money you say you put into it but all the hours and hours of labor ( of love) you have in it and yep, you are so right, any tractor CAN be a show tractor.!!
