Doug, here's how the bracket and U bolt should be installed.

Doug, yep it could be that the U bolt that you have is too small.

My lift handle is flat on the inside, not round. So that the U doesn't fit all the way down

Doug, you have the wrong size U bolt. Even on the older style lift arms of the 123 and 70/100 they installed with the nuts facing out.

doug barnett

Just measure between the two bolt holes and a local hardware store has them.

Hey, guys.
I'm refurbishing my Haban 60" deck for my "9".
Can I just replace the bearings in the spindles?
If so what is the part number? Can I get them anywhere like McMaster-Carr?
Thanks!

The tractors at home, I'm at work, hardware store is on the way home. If I knew the size I could swing in, pick on up on the way home. Or get home, measure and get one tomorrow.

Frank, I'm still here, I'm on the left coast. I used 1 1/2 u bolt. The u on the bolt in the pic looks a lot flatter than the one I got. Any idea on the diameter 1/4 or 5/16?

Go for quarter inch. I'll admit it's not an actual U bolt but it will keep you going until the right one comes along.

You can heat it and pound it flat if it hits . a multi angle swing press will do it lol.

Boy - Doug B is going thru correct parts H#%^* for his square back U-bolt. Now, I wonder if he needs the U-bolt that also has 2 little sleeves so it keeps the lift arm bracket from rotating.

Kraig - Oh Great One Keeper of The Photos - got any other pics in your file. I tried to look in the CCC parts but under the blade info it just comes up saying diagram not available, parts list only. The Op Manual doesn't have a pic but does have the following Note:

"On all tractors except the Model 72, 73, 104, 105, 106, 124, 125, 126, and 127 not equipped with a shield on the lower end of the lift handle, use two (1/16 x 1-1/16-inch) spacers on the U-bolt, behind the lift bracket"

Charlie - geez I didn't know Red Green was off the air. The local PBS channel out here still has it.

Harry
Nice to know you got the same info when you looked as I got .

Doug B

Yep same thing lol

For what should of been a ez sqeezee blade install this thing has turned into a bit of pita. I knew I needed to make the lift rod. but the subframe mod and now the elusive correct U bolt and maybe spacer stuff is really starting to wear on me. I mean this thing came off a 122 I figured painted, put it on and go!

Look at the bright side, Doug: The more time & effort it takes you to get it done, the more you'll enjoy it when it's done right! (At least that's what my Dad would've said!)
