Being that this is the IH topic section let me say that there is not a day that I do not click on ihcubcadet (usually 5 or more times each day). This site is tops when it comes to IH Cub Cadet info. Thanks to all who make it as good as it is. I even check it out when on vacation.

Ok,,, who stole the snow. We still cannot get enough to play in. Got 1" of fluff, they told us we were getting much more. Guess I need to visit snow country!

Ok, can any of the engine guru's tell me if the kt 3 1/4 bore pistons are the same as a single cylinder one? Am trying to learn this twin cylinder mess. Damage seems to not be bad after all. Strange wear on rings though.Comp rings ok but oil rings are a mess.

Bring your truck over here to Ohio and I will help you load up all you can carry. Have some extra heading my way in about an hour or two. My CC 70 with 36 snow thrower is loving it. The 70 is my ugliest (meaning never restored and must have sat outside all it's life) but man can it clear a path. I think my other Cubs are jealous.

Hi Guys, hope everyone's doing fine.

Is this angle correct? This is the pto locking rod out of my 149. I had to cut a weld to remove it because of the threads and a rust issue. I plan to fill the wear spots but was wondering if it might have been bent over the years. Has anyone ever seen this rod removed?

Thanks to any and all.....Wayne

Wayne, I believe that should be bent to a 90° angle.

Jerry
I live south of you a little over an hours drive.
We got a couple of inches and now it is snowing again. I haven't listened to any forecast today, but at the rate its coming down now, will probably get a half foot or so. Problem is it will probably blow away before we get too much cub time.
Hopefully you will get some in a little while.
Brad

Kraig-

I thought about that but then the handle is at an angle and if the bend was 90* wouldn't it be too much? I'm just being careful because when it's back together, it's back together, if you know what I mean. This is also why I asked if anyone has seen one out of the handle. This is one of those things I don't understand about IH like the pulley mounting bar in the nf mule drive; it's welded as well and requires some time to correct.

Thanks for your time...Wayne

Wayne, I suppose it's possible that it should be bent like that, all the PTO engagement rods that I have seen have either the Z bend or the 90° bend. I do have a parts 149 at home that I could take a closer look at this evening, or perhaps someone has one handy that they could take a look at.

Don T., any chance you could have a look at your 129 and see what the PTO engagement rod looks like?

AH! I was thinking that was the rod that connects between the lever and the PTO engagement mechanism, the one with the turnbuckle. NOT the rod within the PTO engagement handle.

Matt I think you're right. Here's where I traced the angle (before cutting)and it still matches the rod bend very closely.

Norm Peacey I use a 4 to 8 gal a minute pump from Nothern Tool I think a .517 . The loader was built from plans from http://www.p.f.engineering.50megs.com/ It turned out to be very usefull and strong.

Scott T.....Well that's good to know, guess I won't be quite so prejudice when I see an engine goin for cheap on CL.

Kraig:
New one for my GIF collection - thanks!!
Snowing here - maybe 6" by the AM, supposed to get colder also. So far, with the fresh battery I put in this fall, the 129 has started without any external persuasion and I've actually changed by startup routine to half throttle, leave it alone and just slowly pull the choke open as it cranks. Seems to start the same as my older routine..

Gonna hole up in the basement for the afternoon. (OT) sure do miss having a fire in the basement furnace, lot cooler down here, but all the dust and smoke is outside now too..

so far about 5 1/4 inchs in rockford, ill area here are some plow pics and one of my rescued 129 i am working on
