paul if i jump from batt+ to coil+ how does the starter engage and disengage?

I thought they were the same heads the combustion chamber anyway. The ones on the 100s have a smaller chamber I thought . I liked that killer 10hp head on the kirk engine site . It was shaved down to the max. Ive got a good head from k321 that commited suicide. My old 100 head is warped real bad so I thought Id trade em.

Jeff, you still would use the starter button to turn over the engine. Since you said it would turn over but not start, using the jumper will make sure you're getting power to the coil. It would still require you to use the starter button to turn it over.

thanks paul i should of thought of that i will try tomorrow to see if it works and thanks

Hello, My question is has anybody tried duro ag bar tires ? if so how do they compare to carlisle or titans i don't want to waste the cash if there no good. Thanks alot

Dave/Wayne-

What I meant is, while there are several variations on the 9 bolt head, the one from a K321 would be the same as the K301 and K241 heads used at the same time, i.e. a 109, 129, and 149 would all have the same head. Either that, or Brian Miller's page on the heads is wrong...wouldn't be the first time there was misleading info on that site. At any rate, you can use the K321 head on the K241 as-is, but you may need different spacers, head tin, etc.

Hi Guys,

Would like to clear up a point about correct parts for my restorations....I'm aware that steering wheels on the later 100s had a center cap instead of an acorn nut. Was this also true of later 70s, or did all 70 steering wheels (early and late) have a center acorn nut? (Given the many similarities of these two tractors, I'm inclined to believe center caps were used on later versions of both, but I'd like to be more sure...)

Paul, thanks i could not wait till morning to jump out ignition went out to barn and tried it and that is the problem a bad switch

Matt, I agree with most of that. I don't know when they changed them.
Wayne, You can do what you want but why mill it? just use it as is with the longer bolts.

Steve,
All model 70 Cub Cadets had the acorn nut steering wheel. In fact all of fhe 7HP Cub Cadets (Original,70,71,72,73) came with the acorn nut steering wheel. Only on the 100 Cub Cadet is where you can find either the acorn nut or the center cap style of steering wheel. I have an early model 100 that has the acorn nut steering wheel.
