Sweet to look at ?

Norwegian Icebreaker heads up the Mississippi River

As you may have seen on the news it's been very cold in Iowa.

So cold, in fact, that the US Corp of Engineers has borrowed a
Norwegian Icebreaker to clear the Mississippi River for freighter traffic.

The Icebreaker is starting near Davenport and working its way northward.
Here is a picture as the hard work of ice breaking begins.

Impressive!

I hope the needle on his compass does not shrink

Did ya notice the old man has a flat belly ! I'd kill for something even close to that !
Jeff, someone in the 'Sandbox'referred to that situation as 'gender reversal'!

I'd be more concerned about too much follow though on the swing.

This morning I lucked out and was able to buy two boxes of ammo.

I placed the boxes on the front seat and headed back home, but stopped at a gas station where

a drop-dead gorgeous blonde in a short skirt was filling up her car at the next pump.

She glanced at the two boxes of ammo, bent over and leaned in my passenger window, and said in a sexy voice,

"I'm a big believer in barter, old fella. Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?"

I thought for a few seconds and asked,

"What kind of ammo 'ya got?"

Dave,
I didn't get the pussy offer, so I guess I'm keeping the ammo.

That gave me a chuckle. Now that I got Denny and Charlie all excited , well we were having a PSD and a Cummings decision . Just because I run a 5.9 1995 Cummins powered Dodge , but a rarely Brag about it. Any old straight six is better : stronger with more low RPM torque: than most other configuration I`am told. In my 5.9 there is no computer box for more HP . Just a 10 torque plate and 3000 rpm governor spring for fuel to 2850 or so.I`am using the stock 160 hp injectors and have run a dyno twice to see from stock what those changes from stock would do for fiver towing. with a 30 percent drive train loss they told me it ran 322 hp 600 + torque at 50 mph on the dyno . I run 285/75/16 summer and winter My friend with his Hemi gas Dodge followed me 65 miles or so him with his bumper pull trailer a 27' ; I had my golden Falcon fifth wheel . we got set up and well we did talk some truck by the fire that night.seems he had problems keeping up in the hills and we only drove mostly 50 mph. Next day we went to get are trucks filled again ( at my goading lol). My truck took $34.86 and he stopped pumping at $65.00 + : Never heard a thing about his Hemi the rest of the weekend. On paper I got 15.9 mpg . My friend has a 99 2500 PSD and he can`t get over 19 mpg not towing . No argument that 8 cylinders have to have more fuel to run over 6 .

My friends like what they drive and that is fine , but It has been proven the 5.9 cummins is the winner in the MPG war.

I hear Ya Don! I've always had Cummins in all my class 8 rigs, 6 in all dating back to '81. The last was a '05 W900 w/565 ISX.

I sure do like my '11 Laramie Longhorn 1500. We got 21 mpg last summer on some segments of a trip to PA and back. I just wish it were the Canyon Brown color instead of the Sagebrush Pearl and a 2500 w/Cummins. BUt I bought it used, so can't complain

All my trucks were brown with the exception of the 2000 Pete and the '05 W900 that were Mocha Pearl W/brown trim.

My truck is just a work truck with no fancy extras like power windows or air . Towing my fiver is the reason I bought it with only 170000 km on it . It never had the pulling speed to keep up with a 10500 fiver . so I did a lot of reading to get what I have now.It will pull at 65 mph now and rarely slows down on the hills like it did stock. I have plans to replace the stock 160 hp injectors with the 215 Hp injectors. The way it is set up with the torque plate and governor spring with the 215 hp injectors I should see about 426 Hp and 900 + ft lb torque at the rear tires. For towing heavy allways over 10,000 lbs the extra power is real nice. Not towing the truck with a weight of 7800 lb + will put you back into the seat when the 38 lb of boost is reached at 1200 rpm till over 2400. I like to pick at Denny just a little because we see so many of his posts include the psd. If Ford would have put the 5.9 into there 2500 truck I would have bought one.

Now, I'm going to put this as delicately as I can: Is it just "white guys" that associate with this forum?

... and while I'm at it, why do some find this flag offensive?:

266611.jpg

To me, it's always been a symbol of a fight for freedom. As I've grown older I've come to realize it was a fight for State's Rights against a "collective government". Are we totally screwed, yet? We need more Kentucky Kens.

Frank-

It sounds to me like you may have some "southern" in you. I know you didn't move to Maine from the south though...people (true southerners) just don't do that...do they???
